Advantages: Easy to manage

Disadvantages: Hygiene questions

I have previously reviewed on here my total dissatisfaction with the case I am provided with by my optician. It's the Barrel style case I am referring to which to me damages lenses, doesn't keep as clean and is way too fiddly. I simply refuse to use them and am starting to amass a stock pile. So I have purchased a few packs of these for under £1 each from an online store from B and L, a company I have never heard of before.

What you get here is a small case for contact lenses. It is made of plastic, in this case a tough durable plastic that will survive drops and provide solid protection to your lenses. In terms of being made solid the screw lids are the strengths here. Even with minimal effort the screw motion is easy and it locks in tight meaning that the lenses are very secure. I have no worries of this falling off, or the cap coming loose. Great protection!

The device is very small and the lens fits in snugly. It takes very little fluid to fill them up and they are not excessively deep so it means you don't waste fluid, even though you probably have too much already. To remove the lens you stick in your finger and it sticks and out it comes. This is one side people don't like as the lens is harder to get out than the barrel cases but basically there is too much risk of damage to the lens from the barrel case in my opinion and I prefer not to use them.

This has served to keep my lens nice and clean providing good moisture. The one hygiene issue here is that because you touch it all the time the dust and dirt of your finger gets into the tub. It gets in the cracks and inevitably finds its way in meaning you need to clean these quite often. They definitely keep the lens more clean than the barrel cases but they do need more maintenance. Cleaning the device intended to keep clean ironic.

I have used these to travel about with and they have always stayed tight and are easier to carry and I feel much more safer with this than with the barrel style. I feel its much more easier to manage, with less risk and no risk of catching the lens in the case as with the barrel.

Summary: Best type of case
