Advantages: Multipurpose, Very efficient, Lenses last longer

Disadvantages: None

I have been wearing Contact Lenses since I was 15 years old. I’m 37 now so that’s 22 years that I’ve been using them.

During this time I have gone through many a brand of solutions. I remember the olden days when you had a multitude of different solutions. One for cleaning, one for rinsing and one for storing.

Gradually with advancement in this area, “All-In-One” or “Multipurpose” solutions are now available and there is one solution that I would like to point out.

It’s the ReNu Multipurpose solution is manufactured by Bausch & Lomb which is a highly reputable company.

The bottle is of plastic body and the content is 240ml. This will last for approximately one month if used properly. Three months supply ie. 3 x 240ml will cost you £16.85.

This solution can be used for all contact lenses. They do mention that its for soft lenses but one of my friends uses it for his hard lenses, so obviously it is adaptable.

It is a very versatile solution and cleans, disinfects, lubricates, rinses and removes deposits of protein aswell as the usual soaking and storage.

I started using this brand last year and I must say I have been very pleased with the results.

I had changed from soft lenses to disposable lenses last year. The main reason for this was that with the soft lenses, despite regular cleaning (with other brands), after a couple of months the protein was still building up on the lenses and they were starting to turn slightly yellowish in colour. Also the clearness of visibility was reduced. Therefore every two or three months I had to keep on purchasing a brand new pair of soft lenses and they are not cheap. This is what led me to start using Disposable lenses.

However I am now back to using the soft ones thanks to this solution. The current pair, that I am wearing now, has lasted me for five months already and I still have very clear visibility
and no itchiness or burning sensations in my eyes.

Obviously it has to be the solution since the brand of lenses is identical to what I was using previously. I also prefer using soft lenses, as it is good for the eyes if you remove your lenses every night and re-insert them again the next day. It gives your iris and pupils a bit of oxygen and rest from the constant contact with plastic.

For anyone out there who’s not satisfied with his or her present solution I would recommend you to try this one out.
