Advantages: individual vials are hygenic and easy to use

Disadvantages: none for me, well maybe the fact that the individual vials are more expensive than the bottle

I'm kind of 'blind as a bat' and I don't really like wearing my glasses as the lenses are a bit like milk bottle bottoms. They are quite heavy too, this is partly my fault though due to the frame that I chose this time, a large geek chic style plastic frame. The weight doesn't bother me really as I've always worn glasses right from being a toddler, it's people knowing how short sighted I really am when they see how thick my lenses are!

So I basically wear my contact lenses five or six days out of seven, and for probably an average of fourteen or fifteen hours a day. The only way that I'm able to wear my contact lenses for such long periods of time though is with the help of these Blink for contacts eye drops. I buy these from Boots, and I buy the box of 20 individual little vials for £4.99.

They do also sell this in a 10ml bottle for £3.99, the bottle is slightly better value for money as the total amount of solution in the 20 vials pack comes to 7ml, but I personally think that the individual vials are much more hygenic. I also think that the individual vials are handier for carrying about with you, I always have a few stashed in my handbag. Boots do occasionally have these on offer, either on '3 for 2', or on 'buy 1 get the second at half price'. Whenever I see them on offer I always stock up. They are currently on offer in Boots as part of the '3 for 2' across healthcare.

The eye drops are suitable for use with all types of contacts lenses; both the gas permeable lenses, and all of the different types of soft contact lenses including the daily disposable contact lenses. I wear a combination of both the monthly disposable contact lenses and the daily disposable contact lenses; I wear the monthly lenses on a day to day basis, and I wear the daily lenses on holiday or for weekends away or nights out for the convenience factor. I use these eye drops with both my monthly disposables and my daily disposables.

I would say that 80% of the time I use these drops is whilst wearing my contact lenses, however I do use these when just wearing my glasses as well, they are not just purely for contact lens wearers only. The eye drops are a very gentle formula and don't sting my eyes at all, either with or without my contact lenses in.

Normally when I wear my contact lenses my eyes can get a little dry and itchy towards the end of the day, sometimes even sooner than this if I'm in an air-conditioned office. When this happens I would just use one of the little vials and pop a couple of drops into each eye which will solve the problem and relubricate my contact lenses and eyes. I would also tend to use these on a night out if my eyes are getting tired, which they seem to do a lot quicker when I wear my contact lenses, again a couple of drops in each eye will refresh and soothe my eyes.

I use these if I have dry or irritated eyes even when not wearing my contact lenses, and find that they are still just as soothing, and still give just as instant relief. I always use these on a long haul flight as I find that flying does leave me with dry itchy eyes, once again a couple of drops will relieve the irritation and put the moisture back into my eyes. These are also handy for if you get a piece of grit or something in your eye to effectively wash it out, in this instance I will use the whole of the vial in the affected eye to flush whatever it is out.

Each vial is a one time use only vial, but to be honest there is only enough solution to use once anyway. Obviously it should go without saying that you shouldn't share the opened vial with anyone else. If you are using these with contact lenses then you use them with your contact lenses in, there's no need to remove your lenses to use the drops. You basically just twist off the plastic top of the vial and then place one to two drops into each eye as required. I always use two drops in each eye, I do always wait a few seconds for the first drop to 'soak in' though, as otherwise I find that the second drop just runs out of my eye if I drop the two drops in both together. This is both a bit of a waste, and bad for my make-up! I also just blink a few times after I've popped each drop in, to help disperse the solution around my eye, and more importantly under my contact lens if I'm wearing my lenses. I find that the soothing effect that I get from these eye drops is really long lasting, and it's very rare that I would use two vials in a day.

I've been using these eye drops for longer than I care to remember, and I have no plans to stop anytime soon. They enable me to wear my contact lenses for much longer than I would be able to otherwise, without them I'd probably only manage around seven to eight hours a day, whereas with them I can comfortably wear my contact lenses for up to fifteen or sixteen hours a day. They are also just perfect in general for dry, irritated or tired eyes at any time, and they really do relieve and freshen up your eyes.
