==Boots Sterile Saline==
Going through stages of wearing monthly disposables or daily disposables means that I seen to have such a collection of contact lens related items and having a clear out I came across this bottle of Sterile Saline from Boots which is now out of date and needs to be thrown away.
This solution is of course only available from Boots but it is in most of their stores and doesn't cost too much. At £3.63 pence for a very large bottle of 360 ml you seem to really get your monies worth when buying this product.
The main reason I purchased this was for my monthly disposable lenses which need cleaning off regularly and really looking after in order for them to be clear and comfortable to wear. This solution is perfect for giving the lenses a rinse off before they go in the special solution and lens case overnight.
The solution is a clear water like product which is preservative free and has no dour to it. It is suitable for all types of contact lenses and for all intense and purposes it could be tap water (expensive tap water) for the general look at it. It does however seem to do a good job at washing my lenses of all the smudge marks and impurities and the solution on the whole seems to work really well. It is not a product which is suitable for the overall washing of lenses and a proper cleaning solution should be used in conjunction with this product.
The design of the bottle is adequate for the way the item is used and the overall look of the bottle is pretty basic but this is really all you need in order for you to know what the product is and how the solution works.
The only downside with a product such as this is the relatively short date life of the solution to ensure that the product stays sterile and of course the bottle I have still has a good deal in but is a couple of years past the use by date. It is now going into the bin!
Overall I feel that it is an expensive bottle of product, what is more of less water, but as with a lot of contact lens related items these all seem to be expensive and therefore this bottle is no different. You do get a good deal of solution for your money but the short date life seems to mean that you have to use it really quickly in order to be able to use all of the solution.
However as far as this product goes I can't really fault it apart from being expensive for what it is and I feel a score of 4 out of 5 stars is more than appropriate. If you need it then this is a good one to chose and I would recommend it.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
