Being recently short sighted, I found that wearing glasses to be annoying, simply because I wasn't used to having frames on my face. I also found it annoying when I was out and people would point things for me to look at and I would have to scramble in my bag to get my glasses out or screw up my eyes just to get a glimpse of what everyone was looking at. I opted to getting contact lenses, but had decided that I really don't monthly disposable contact lenses, simply because I was scared in-case I don't clean them properly.

After much consideration I made an appointment with my local ophthalmologist and they talked me thought the different types of contact lenses that are available at that moment. I must admit I had to go back a few times before I was able to take them out properly but as soon as I have them in I instantly have found that it was as though eyesight had been given back to me. I was surprised to find that they where really flimsy, I always imagined them to be made of glass. It took me a while to get used to them, it always felt as thought I had a tiny hair in my eye and I wanted to rub my eyes, however this feeling didn't last very long and I was soon able to wear them with no problems.

I find Focus dailies to be really comfortable and I can wear them for a full day without feeling as though my eyes are drying out. However a few times I have had them tear in my eye and let's just say it was not funny. I feel as thought I have been given a freedom and I am able to go to concerts without thinking to myself are my glasses going to be trampled on. It's great to be able to see without the added hassle of pushing my glasses up my nose, as they tend to fall down all the time. Sometimes I can forget they are in and I have on occasion went searching for my glasses just out of habit, to then realise I don't need them as I have my contact lenses in.

I haven't tried any other contact lenses so I can't really compare them to anything else. I have never had any problems with them. I don't tend to wear them all the time due to the fact they can be quite expensive to buy from my ophthalmologist and try to keep them for special occasions. Focus dailies have in the past cost me between £35 - £40 from my ophthalmologist but I have found a few websites where I can get them for around £20, which is a great saving.
