Advantages: Easy to use, no blurred vision, do not dry my eyes out.
Disadvantages: Prices always rising (like most things!)
The product
Daily contact lenses from Focus Dailies. I had a specialist appointment with an optician at Specsavers and had my eyes tested again, as they were due for an eye test anyway, before ordering my first set of contact lenses.
The packaging
There is a suitable amount of packaging to keep these lenses protected and I found the packaging easy enough to open without dropping or damaging the lenses. Each packet contains the lens for one eye so it is easy enough for me to find which eye I want to open if I have more than one months supply and there was a printed slip stuck to the bottom that showed the prescription details so I knew that I had the right (or left!) eyes prescription.
The price
I paid around £51 for 3 months last year but the price has now risen, for my particular lenses and prescription, to around £55.00 + delivery which I still feel is quite good value considering I paid a couple of hundred pounds for my two pairs of glasses and broke one pair within just a few months! I purchased my contact lenses from the Specsavers website but these can be purchased from numerous places providing you have details of your most recent prescription to hand.
Overall opinion
I am quite new to wearing glasses having only had them for about 2 years now, perhaps a little less, but when I got married I did not want to risk having glare from my glasses ruin my photographs and so I started to look in to contact lenses and the first ones that I ended up trying were these 'Focus Dailies'. I have tried one or two others since but have returned back to using these as I had a couple of months worth and the expiry on them was very long.
The main reason that I went for this particular brand is because the price was one of the cheapest that I could find for daily contact lenses and because the name of the brand was one that I had heard of before, my husband had tried with good results and I wanted a brand that I could trust, regardless of the price.
I was pleased with these contact lenses. The are soft and thin but I had no problems with accidentally breaking or damaging any of these. Once I got my head around putting the contact lenses in and taking them out I had no problems at all. My eyes were a little sore for the first few days that I begun to use daily lenses but I believe that this was probably because it took me quite a few seconds to get the lens in and I was not as fluid with my movements as I am when using contact lenses now.
My eyes are kept quite moist when using these but I do have a mist spray that is designed for use with contact lenses just in case I end up getting dry eyes, particularly useful when I am at work. It is rare for me to get dry eyes when using these lenses and the prescription that I selected online appears to be perfect.
I am pleased with these contact lenses and while I have tried a couple of other types since using these, these are the brand that I have returned back to and have been the most satisfied with in terms of price, quality and usability.
Summary: A decent contact lens which is helping me see without glasses.
