      excellent lenses

I've been wearing glasses since the age of 10 and hated them from the first moment I tried them on. They never actually felt comfortable and it just felt to me wearing them unnatural. As you can imagine I had quite a complex. I was terrified, when a buddy advised me I should try lenses. Just the idea of putting my fingers in my own eyes, I hated it but I suppose I was desperate enough to try them. Well getting the lenses in was simple enough but attempting to get them out took me the entire night.
Lenses give me more independence but most important merely a good eyesight during the day what you really desire. I got over the whole thing that is complicated and wear my eyeglasses. First I actually didn't enjoy the idea of sleeping with lenses in because I always believe you should give your eyes some rest and normally I would wear my eyeglasses at nighttime. But seemingly more oxygen trough was allowed by the overnight lenses in relation to the ordinary daily ones so I tried them outside.

I actually must express that they are loved by me. These lenses are worn by me through the night and it is just a fantastic feeling standing up in the morning without having so as to determine to grab first for your eyeglasses. You just stand up and even without understanding you see regular and clear. Most significant is I worry less about wearing them and that my eyes feel less dry than normal daily lenses. They really appear to let trough more air because never let your eyes dry out that is very important to your eyes.
I still believe that your eyes must be able to take a rest so I do not wear them every day of the month but I do take a break. Maybe it is more the feeling but I understand that my eyes just feel better and in addition, it relaxes me a bit. I likewise do not hate wearing my eyeglasses anymore so that certainly helps. In conclusion excellent lenses ,it can not hurt in trying them out!

nice contact lenses for your changeing look

I wear contact lenses most days as I set about attempting to find some coloured lenses online SINCE I have really poor eyesight. although I 've in the past used the washable lenses I just do not enjoy them,AND looked specifically for daily disposable coloured lenses and wear daily disposables. All these are prescription lenses that are soft, and so you'll need to know what your prescription is before you purchase them.

Regrettably the option of colours readily available for the one day lenses was more limited than with the washable ranges. As far as I can tell there are just four colour options - Pure Hazel, Blue, Green and Grey. As I desired brown eyes I went for Pure Hazel, although would have opted to get a darker brown if there had been that option available.

The lenses come in a blister pack like any other contact lenses would and they actually have a coloured eye printed onto each lens. Rather than being a solid colour it's printed to look like a genuine iris, to allow it to be look more natural when you're wearing the lenses. When you remove the strip of lenses from your box as it's like there's five small brown eyes staring up at you, to be honest this actually appears somewhat frightening!

When it came to placing the lenses in I found them to be rather comfortable and they felt no different to wearing my usual lenses. They were in no way scratchy and nor did they irritated at any point or become dry.

One thing I did find was that the size of the coloured iris printed onto the lens, was marginally bigger than the particular iris of my eye. This meant that you could see more black making my eyes appear smaller. I guess this can be only because different individuals have different sized eyes and that I imagine it's better than having the coloured component be not too large, as undoubtedly that might look even more peculiar.

I remember the very first time that I wore these I went out with a few friends. The restaurant was dimly lit and that I recall thinking that my eyesight was really somewhat blurry. It occurred the second time I wore them too, and so I got on the internet and discovered the cause, which can be actually rather apparent when you consider it...

When you're in a dim area your pupil expands to let in more light. When your pupils dilate unfortunately it's possible for the pattern to really cover the pupil very marginally that may obscure your vision obviously as these lenses have a pattern of an eye printed onto them. I have to say this was merely very slight and it did not stop me from seeing fully, it was just that now and again things would appear to obscure just a little bit. Due to this little problem, these are probably more suited to wearing during the day, which can be a shame as I think most folks would probably decide to wear coloured contact lenses for nights out.

As these are one day lenses throw them away when you're done and you only must take them out. You can not sleep in them, and they can't be set in solution to re use either.

Like all daily disposables these are a bit more expensive compared to the washable lenses. They cost GBP13 for a box of 10 and I bought mine from www.contactlenses.co.uk. I Have only used once I had been impressed with the service and would recommend it though it is a site.

I do like these lenses and I do believe they are a little fun for when you fancy a change. So I do keep them, the price is too high for me to desire to wear them. It's a little bit of a shame they can confuse your vision somewhat at night, however they are comfy to wear and also the fact you throw them away after one use makes them more hygienic TOO. They are not perfect if you would like to modify your appearance, but I'd recommend them.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Cosmetically pleasing but a disastor for eye health

I have been wearing prescription contact lenses for over 5 years and I recently decided to get some coloured contact lenses. Having quite a dark brown iris I really wanted to know how changing the colour of my eyes would affect my overall appearance.

The contacts comes in different colours such as green, blue, brown and grey. These are daily disposable lenses so the lenses are worn for a day and then they are thrown away at the end of the day. I choose the grey colour after trying a pair of trial lenses. They looked pretty good and so I ordered 10 pairs of them. They seemed to give a nice natural colour but this is probably because I have quite large pupils and my iris is quite dark so its not so obvious that I am wearing lenses. They really aren't suitable for those with a small pupil AND light iris because the true colour will still be seen. The diameter is very large of the iris colour on the contact lens and so those with larger pupils will get a more natural colour. I got mine from my local opticians for £20 and this seems pretty expensive but if you choose the monthly ones they are much cheaper. I don't like cleaning the lenses and prefer to have a fresh pair of lenses each day.

When I tried the contact lenses for the day they instantly transformed my eyes and my face. The colour of the contacts seemed to brighten my face and my eyes. My eyes where defined and bright. There was a major problem though that I found with these lenses is that the material is hydrogel and has a high water content, so this means it dehydrates really quickly and as I have dry eyes this makes it worse. I find that the lens stick to my eye making it very difficult to remove the lenses and so subsequently I don't wear my contacts for that long.

The main reason for getting coloured contacts was because I have brown eyes and think that this quite boring. The contacts did make my eyes brighter but the material is of poor quality and they exasperated my dry eyes. I did use drops to help with the symptoms but they didn't work very well. If the contacts where made from silicone hydrogel then I am certain that they would be more comfortable. The market for coloured lenses is not huge and this is the primary reason that these lenses have not been upgraded to a silicon hydrogel. I have stopped using them as they are unhealthy for my eyes but they may work better with those who have a better ocular surface.

After recommendation from my optometrist that the lenses are making my dry eye worse I have discontinued use. For those looking for an occasional colour change then this is the best product but it does depend on your eyes, so ask your optometrist first.

Get yourself a fresh look with freshlook lenses

I am one of those people who is never happy with the way I look and always wanting to change something. It's just a good job I can't afford plastic surgery, as no doubt I'd end up looking like Pete Burns! Last year I convinced myself that I needed (not wanted, needed) to have brown eyes. My grey-blue eyes just weren't cutting it! I have pale skin and dye my hair dark and I figured that dark eyes would look much better on me.

I wear contact lenses most days as I have really poor vision and set about trying to find some coloured lenses online. I wear daily disposables and although I have in the past used the washable lenses I simply don't like them, so looked specifically for daily disposable coloured lenses. The only make I could find were the Ciba Vision freshlook dailies. These are prescription soft lenses, so you will need to know what your prescription is before you buy them.

Unfortunately the choice of colours available for the one day lenses was more limited than with the washable ranges. As far as I can tell there are only four colour options - Pure Hazel, Blue, Green and Grey. As I wanted brown eyes I went for Pure Hazel, although would have opted for a darker brown if there had been that option available.

The lenses come boxed and you get 10 lenses per box (two strips of five), and obviously as you need to wear two at a time (unless you're going for the one eyed look!) then this will give you five days of wear.

The lenses come in a blister pack like any other contact lenses would and they actually have a coloured eye printed onto each lens. Rather than being a solid colour it is printed to look like an actual iris, to make it look more natural when you're wearing the lenses. To be honest this actually looks slightly terrifying when you remove the strip of lenses from the box as it's like there's five little brown eyes staring up at you!

When it came to putting the lenses in I found them to be very comfortable and they felt no different to wearing my usual lenses. They were in no way scratchy and nor did they become dry or irritated at any point.

The colour was quite strong and they did make my eyes look like they were brown - there was no hint of the blue coming through. One thing I did notice was that the size of the coloured iris printed onto the lens, was slightly bigger than the actual iris of my eye. This meant that you could see less white of my eye, making my eyes look smaller. I guess this is just because different people have different sized eyes and I suppose it's better than having the coloured part be too small, as no doubt that would look even stranger. Other than that I did think that they looked fairly natural, although having gone 26 years with blue eyes, it took a bit of getting used to when looking in the mirror!

I remember the first time I wore these I went out for an evening meal with some friends. The restaurant was dimly lit and I remember thinking that my vision was very slightly blurry. It happened the second time I wore them too, so I got on the internet and discovered the cause, which is actually quite obvious when you think about it...
