Clarymist Eye Spray
Advantages: Convenient and easy to use
Disadvantages: Traditional drops still give a better feeling of moisture
I love Optrex Actimist eye spray as it is just so convenient but Clarymist eye spray is just that little bit better than the Actimist in my opinion for actually relieving dry eyes.
Clarymist (well actually it isn't actually called Clarymist it's called eye logic now after they changed the name) is a spray than works in the same way as eye drops do to relieve tired, dry and sore eyes but it has the added benefit of being easier to apply and is a god send to those of us who don't actually like putting drops in our eyes.
To use eye logic all you have to do is close your eyes and press down on the spray to release a fine spray of the liquid. This fine mist then penetrates through to your eyes through the lash line and relieves the symptoms of dryness. It is completely safe to wear with contacts and can be also be used safely even if eye make-up is on the eye lids.
For me the benefit of an eye spray as opposed to using traditional drops is twofold. I appreciate the convenience of them as I can spray my eye anywhere and at any time whereas with eye drops I need to stop whatever I'm doing to be able to put them in. Also with some eye drops they can sting a little and make my eyes go red and tear up for a few minutes after using them whereas I find that eye logic spray is really gentle and doesn't cause my eyes to sting or feel irritated.
The down side with this spray is that is isn't quite as lubricating as traditional drops are. You are only supposed to need one spray for this to lubricate your eyes but I do find that I need at least three and sometimes four depending on how dry my eyes are to begin with to get enough moisture into my eyes to stop them from feeling sore and itchy. It also doesn't last as long as traditional drops and I find that I have to re spray several times throughout the day. It does however give a slightly longer lasting feeling of lubrication than the similar Actimist.
The other downside of this spray is the price. It costs double and even triple what some traditional eye drops do and is in the region of £11.99 for a bottle. Out of the bottle you do get 100 sprays but for me it still isn't fantastic value. If not for it being so convenient then I probably wouldn't bother with it as traditional drops are still better but because it is so convenient and easy to use it is still something that I would recommend especially if you don't like putting drops in your eyes.
Summary: Convenient and easy to use eye spray
