Worth it for a special occasion

Coloured contact lenses are a fabulous way to entirely change your look, instantly, and these novelty fashion lenses by Cleo are no exception. You can pick up a pack of re-usable fashion contacts for £10 - £15 depending on retailer - they are available online from Amazon and independent retailers, and direct from the opticians on the high street. There are a huge range of contacts, from realistic colour changes, to logos, cat's eyes, UV lenses and lots more. They are suitable for most people able to use a contact lens but it is worth remembering they have no effect to they eyesight so if you are a contacts wearer you will actually have to wear your glasses in order to be able to see!

These fashion lenses are called Zombie and they're a white lens which makes the eye look remarkably undead - much like a zombie. They're lots of fun for parties, look great under UV light and even photograph well. With the name and the effect, however, I can see these being most popular around halloween and this is what I bought my lenses for, when I was at Uni.

The lenses are very easy to apply and because they are just plain white as opposed to a cats eye effect they don't need to be put in any particular way - they're always the right way around - and even if you've had a few drinks, still stay in place, even if your eyes don't!

They stay comfortable and soft on the lens over the course of the night but after about five hours I'm itching to take them out, and certainly you have to be extra vigilant to take them out at the end of the night and store them properly if you want to use them again.

They're not something you're going to be wearing every Friday night but they're affordable enough for a bit of fun and the effect is amazing, everyone was asking me where I got mine from. For a special dressing up occasion, a big night out clubbing, or as a gift for a party lover, they're just the thing. Just remember they won't improve your eyesight at all!

        Scary, Zombie Lenses

Ive never really thought of buying coloured contact lenses before but earlier this year when I noticed some on amazon for very little money I decided to treat myself to a few pairs for my nights out. Ive mainly been buying simple one tone coloured lenses to change my eyes to blue or bright green but a few months ago just before Halloween another set caught my eye. These 'Zombie Contact Lenses' which I knew would be 100% perfect for my Halloween night out - the more accessories and colours on a night out the better as far as Im concerned and these couldnt be more perfect for scary nights out.

        Useful Information:
Price: I paid around £5 for a one day use pair.
        Stockists: Cleo Contacts @ amazon.
Other Info: Also available in 30 day & 90 day use pairs. These lenses also comes with a small bottle of contact solution & a small travel case to keep the lenses in whilst your not using them/transporting them around.

*Also these are JUST coloured lenses they offer no help with your vision whatsoever - I reckon most people will have guessed that but thought it might be worth mentioning! :)*

To look at these lenses dont look all that if Im honest - when they are in the case anyway. They look like a white circle on a plastic sheet as that is basically what they are. A circle that should be a good enough size to cover the whole colour part of your eye but none of the pupil. Now getting them in is a pain in the ar*e Im not going to lie there. I have no problem normally with touching my eyeball (it really grosses my mates out when I put these in and take them out!) but these are VERY fiddly. It WILL take you a couple of attempts to make these sort of stick to your eye especially if your not used to it but practice definitely makes perfect and once youve got them in they should stay put. I also recommend putting on make-up AFTER putting these in because they make ym eyes water like mad and I reckon most people will be the same - its fine to apply eye-make up whilst wearing these lenses. As with anything practice makes perfect when it comes to putting in contact lenses so do persevere and you should get the hang of it.

Once these are in they do pretty much stay in place - they do move ever so slightly when you blink but apart from that they are pretty secure. When they are in properly the entire coloured part of your eye should now be a very bright (and pretty spooky) white colour which does look VERY striking let me tell you and totally perfect for a scary party. The coloured part of the lens fits the coloured part of my eye perfectly without overlapping onto my pupil which makes these even more comfy and enjoyable to wear as there is no pain whatsoever. I got SO many comments while I was wearing these with people saying they looked so good and quite creeyp -so really they worked brilliantly for the reason I bought them.

Ive found these to be very comfy to wear - there is an initial discomfort when you first put them in but after that I kind of forget they are even there because there is no feeling at all. DONT sleep with these in though Ive made that mistake and they will roll back on your eyeball (EWW!) and be a rght pain to remove so take these off before bed! Taking them off is very easy as you simply pinch the plastic away from your eye - which does sound painful but honestly its a doddle! And then place them back in your lens case (which is clearly marked left and right). If your funny about touching your eyes then unless you have a willing volunterr these might not be for you as they do take some getting used to when applying but you do learn quickly.

I adored these lenses and they worked so well for the reason I bought them. They are perfect for Halloween and will make any outfit just that bit scarier. I guess they would be great for everyday use if thats your kind of style but they were a happy one off for me and Ill definitely buy them again next year. Highly recommended.

        Thanks For Reading.
