A steal that doesn't compromise eye health.

Daysoft Daily Disposable lenses After having worn glasses for over five years, I had adjusted to a metal frame defining me. At first, however, I chose not to wear them due to "fashion" reasons, but as the years went on and my eyesight deteriorated the option was no longer there. At 16, I joined a ladies football team and glasses were out of the question. The amount of kicks and punches I received, that sent my glasses flying across the field, led me to the decision that I needed contact lenses. Initially I went with Johnson daily disposable lenses, but at £33 for a month's supply, the cost was far too much for me to demand for from my parents. After a bit of research, I stumbled upon the daysoft website. ~Price and Delivery~ When I first ordered from the website (2010) the price of a month's supply of lenses totalled £9.98. At a 1/3 of the price of the Johnson's lenses, it did raise eyebrows- including my mothers'- but reading all the reviews on the website and doing thorough research I decided to try out the product and I haven't turned back since. Currently, the price of a month's supply of lenses is £12.48 but this recent price-hike hasn't put me off as it is still less than half of the price of most branded contact lenses. In the conformation email delivery is estimated up to a maximum of 7 days to receive the product but I don't recall waiting more than 3 days ever, so fast delivery is advantageous. ~Packaging~ The product comes in a white cardboard container which houses two blue cardboard packages with the contact lenses for each eye. This is easily opened to reveal two strips of 16 contact lenses covered in a foil package. Each contact lens is in a plastic bauble which can easily be opened. ~Ease of Use~ After peeling the metal strip back the contact lens can easily be taken out of the package and applied with 3 remaining contact lenses on the strip. The only major problem with this method is that sometimes other lens packages become perforated and this leads to a loss of a contact lens. ~Pros~ Fast delivery Reputable company Huge savings Quality products ~Cons~ Odd contact lens is broken in packaging When ripping off a strip of 4 sometimes cut into contact lens container opening it so have to use it ~Would I Recommend the product?~ One star is lost due to the odd broken contact lenses which I have discovered throughout the years. This aside, I would definitely recommend this website to anyone who needs a cheaper alternative to the popular contact lens companies.

Good quality contact lenses at very cheap prices

I have had bad eyesight since I was a young child, and have been wearing glasses for about 12 years now. I have a high index prescription, so I have really thick lenses on glasses, which I really hate, so I had to resort to contact lenses. I love the freedom that contact lenses have given me over the years. I had discovered daysoft about a year ago, when recommended by a friend, and was amazed by the price, which is less than half of other disposable contact lenses on the market. They offer 2 types of lenses, the daysoft Classic and the daysoft Silk, and the site itself can help you in choosing the best contact lens for you by choosing the contact lens brand that you are currently using. They also offer contact lenses for high index prescriptions, like mine, which are not always available from other sites. On trying them out, I could see no difference between them and other daily contact lenses that I have used in the past. My eyes stay moist all day long, even when I wear them for extended hours. The packaging is very compact and easy to carry around, and is perfect for travelling. Purchasing the lenses is very easy by paypal or Visa, and shipping charges are very cheap. For trying out the first time, one can even purchase a box of only 32 lenses. The lenses are delivered very quickly in just a few days, usually 4 days. The site also offers a service of reminding you when to reorder the lenses, ensuring that you never run out of lenses :) All-in-all, I love these lenses and I love their price!

Low cost lenses that are definitely worth a try

DAYSOFT CONTACT LENSES Having used quite a few brands of contact lenses, one of my favourite brands was discontinued and another rose in price quite dramatically so I decided to search online to try and find a well priced alternative and came across the Daysoft website. The Daysoft lenses are daily disposables which is what I was looking for as I don't feel I wear lenses enough these days to bother with monthly lenses. Finding the lenses is simple, you simply select your usual brand from a drop down list and select your prescription and the website will suggest the lenses best suited to you. My lenses cost around £12 for 32 pairs or daily disposables. This price includes delivery. There are 32 lenses in each box, so unlike some websites it is not going to work out any more expensive for you if you have a different prescription in each eye. You can order a supply of one month, 2 months, 4 months or 6 months but I usually opt for the one month as you do not make any savings by ordering any more. The equivalent price is the same as the one month supply. Upon placing my order I was given a 5-7 day delivery date, the first time I ordered I received these within 2 days and the second time after about 5 days. So never later than quoted. The packaging was very "no frills", just a very small white cardboard box with 2 boxes of lenses inside. The good thing about this packaging is it is very small and slimline so will fit in any letterbox, therefore it does not matter if someone is not home when the product is delivered. Inside the box are 2 smaller blue boxes as shown in the picture above, each with 32 lenses in 2 sheet, you can peel off strips of 4 lenses at a time which is good. I often use 2 lenses from the strip of 4 and put the other 2 in my handbag in case I need a spare. The lenses are a little tricky at first to get out of the small and fiddly packaging, but you soon get used to it. Just be careful not to tear the foil covering other lenses when you are opening the packaging. The lenses were fine the first time I got them as I only wore them perhaps once a week. Recently I've been using them more often and find my eyes are extremely dry from wearing them. I don't feel this when I have them in my eyes, but the following day when I wake up my eyes feel a little irritable. I usually only put the lenses in when I'm going out, leaving it until the last minute at perhaps 6 or 7pm. I always remove them before bed at 11 or 12 pm so I wouldn't expect this irritation from only a few hours of use. My friend and sister also use these lenses and don't have any problems so they may be fine for you and with the low price tag they are worth a try. I have also noticed they offer lenses in 2 types of solution, the classic solution and a silk solution which has added moisture. I will order these again but next time opt for the classic solution, as the standard lenses sent out are in silk solution, to see if this improves the dryness I have been experiencing. The cost is the same for the silk solution or classic so if you do find you've experienced dry eyes in the past this might be the better option. The company delivers to many countries around the world and accepts most credit / debit cards. You will still need to visit an optician regularly to make sure your prescription is correct and so they can check the health of your eyes. Just a quick update, I received a message in my inbox from daysoft within hours of writing this review, thanking me for my feedback and giving me the contact details of a customer care manager who will be able to help me and give me advice on the dry eyes issue I mentioned. Just sent off the message now, very impressed to see that the company are taking notice of the feedback as well as other consumers. Another quick update, I received an email today to say that they have dispatched a free box of lenses in the other solution for me to try. Excellent customer service :) As promised my free lenses arrived and I have tried them once, the one time I have worn them I found an improvement but will wait until I have worn them a few times to decide. Thanks Daysoft.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A cheap, convenient contact lens which is comfortable to boot!

I decided about a year ago that I fancied giving contact lenses a trial. I've had glasses for a number of years but have a habit of forgetting them or forgetting to put them on! I thought if I tried contacts that I would get in the routine of putting them in first thing in the morning and wearing them for the duration of the day. My initial impression of contact lenses on the whole, wasn't a great one as I'd had a bad experience at the opticians. One of the contact lenses I was given to trial had fallen out (unknown to myself) and I had to show the optician that I could remove the lens myself before they let me have them. 20 minutes of poking myself in the eye later, they put dye in my eye and realised it wasn't even in! But! Even after my bad experience I thought I would persist and try them out. The contacts I had my trial of weren't very comfortable. They felt too big and I could actually feel them while they were in. I spoke to a friend who said maybe I needed to try a different type, but to persist until I felt comfortable. I'd put out a plea on twitter for advice on contact lenses and if anyone could recommend a particular brand and quite a few people got back to me, all recommending the same company - Daysoft. I went on the website and filled in my details which took no time at all. They ask you various questions about what type of contacts you currently use etc to see if you are suitable to use the Daysoft daily disposables. I was a little dubious to begin with as it seems quite strange ordering contact lenses off the internet but I went ahead. The first thing that I was pleasently surprise about was the price. The contacts are a fraction of the cost that I was quoted by my opticians. My order arrived within a few days which was really good. The packaging is small enough to fit through your letterbox, so you don't have to worry about being in when the postman comes or having to collect it from the post office. The contacts come in strips with metal foil coating. This is good as it means you can tear them off as you go or if you're like me, you can tear some off to have in your handbag or overnight bag too and they don't take up a lot of room! The only down side of the foil design is a couple of times it has torn slightly so the solution the lenses are in has leaked, so you need to be quite careful. The contact lenses are soft but easy to get out of the packaging. The packaging can wobble (when you have them on the side/in your bathroom) as the lenses are in a dome shaped plastic shell unlike some of the packaging I have seen which is rectangular and therefore more sturdy/less likely to spill. I haven't had any difficulty putting the contact lenses in when I have used them. My eyes did not feel itchy or dry when using the contact lenses. When I have worn the lenses I sometimes forget that I have them in as they are so comfortable, unlike the others I tried out to begin with. As a newbie to contact lenses they are an ideal way to try them out. The contact lenses are easy to remove and dispose of. The service is fast, cheap and easy and the lenses are comfortable. It is a really convenient way of buying contact lenses, especially if you are on a budget!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

An economical way to wear contacts - really wish I had used them sooner!

I'm pretty new to the whole contact lens malarky. I recently had a trial at a high street opticians, where they were persistently trying to push their astronomically priced contact lens scheme on to me - needless to say I refused. I was going to forget the whole lenses thing and stick to glasses, but my friend recommended I tried Daysoft as they as are cheap and reliable. I went to their website, and easy enough ordered a month's supply of my prescription (for both eyes) which came shockingly to just over £10 -- compared to £30 something I would of expected to pay on the highstreet for daily disposable lenses. I have to say I was SO impressed with the customer service and delivery. I ordered the lenses on a Saturday afternoon, and my order was on my doormat first thing Monday morning! Which was fab as I could'nt wait to try them out! The packages the lenses come in are small flat boxes so they easily fit through the letterbox - so there are no worries about being at home for deliveries etc... Now.. The lenses come in strips of 4, slightly different to regular disposable packets- this is to reduce packaging and keep the costs down. Because of this strip packaging, the method of opening each packet is different, in that you almost have to peel the pod from the foil. This seems a little daunting and confusing at first - but trust me , the website is very informative and has a video that shows you how to open them correctly. The lenses themselves.................. As I am relatively new to contacts, I havent had much experience with them. However I did notice that the lense was slightly larger and thicker than the CIBA lenses I was given for my trial - this took a little getting used to. Naturally as i'm still practicing putting them in, it took a while to insert them, but now after a few weeks of having them i'm getting a lot quicker at putting them in - so I can't say I had any troubles with this aspect. The lenses also have UV filters in them to protect your eyes, something that not all cheap lenses have. One thing I have noticed - this may be due to these lenses or not, I can't tell for sure - Is that after wearing them for a few hours my eyes are slightly red/bloodshot - particularly around my iris. Now obviously because I am new to lenses I'm not sure If it's my eyes or the lenses? But I experience no discomfort or dryness with these lenses. After a few weeks I was emailed by the customer support centre for the company, wanting me to rate and give feedback on my order. The company seem to be very focused on customer service, which is great! Overall, I would recommend Daysoft to all contact lense wearers and those who have been umming and ahhing about trying lenses, who have been put off by the cost ( but I would recommend having a free trial at an opticians first to check eye health, have a practice etc. before) at £4.99 for a whole months supply you really can't go wrong. I really wish I had tried lenses years ago!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Just before I ordered, Daysoft switched to Daysoft Silk to replace all lenses. I've given them a few weeks, but compared to other brands they're impossible to put in. The lens is ridiculously curved, so practically springs back off my eye rather than sticking to it.I can put other brands in first time every time, but not these. So much time faffing and so many lenses dropped that I'm not actually saving anything by buying them. Thumbs down.

          The best contact lense company

If you wear contact lenses everyday and do not want the expense any longer then check out this website. The way it works is that you tell them the brand that you normally use, put in your prescription and then you can either have 1 - 6 months supply at your choice. I usually go for the 6 month option at £60 which is only £10 a month with a small delivery charge. It is the best thing I have ever done. The contact lenses come in a cd size case for one month supply so that they fit through the letter box and you dont have to wait in for a delivery. The lense come in a peel away little individual pod. The solution isnt quite enough I find so its worth having contact lense solution to hand to make the lenses a bit more moist. Some people may not need this though. There are instructions included so dont worry if you are new to contacts, with practice you will have no problems. This is a fantastic company and it has totally cut my outgoings for contact lenses. At £4.99 a box for each eye you cant go wrong.

            Disadvantages

Brilliant value for people who are sick of wearing glasses!

I first read about Daysoft Daily Disposable in the Times, advertising a much cheaper alternative to the ones I was wearing at the time from D&A (where I was paying £20 a month). Costing just £4.99 per box, Daysoft are amazing value for money - and the price means that those who wear glasses no longer have to compromise in order to feel better about themselves. The brand are just as comfortable as the "giants" (Specsavers, D&A, etc.), and much better value for money. They do not make your eyes dry, still retaining a lot of moisture even by the end of a long day, and the minimal packaging means they are easy to pack away and store. The only bad thing I could think of for these lenses were the layout of the lens capsules, as they proved to be quite tricky to get out at first (there are 4 attached in each strip, instead of a line of individual boxes you can break away)

              recommended

Daysoft contact lenses come in a box of 32 lenses and cost only £4.99 per box. They have a UV filter and are comfortable to wear. The box is small and compact so you can take it with you on holiday. They are daily disposible lenses so they are healthier for your eyes than lenses that need daily cleaning as this can cause infection/allergies. You can buy them online from www.daysoftcontactlenses.com (they're not available from opticians) and the delivery is really quick, they arrive in 1-3 days. Compared with other brands, they are much better value and just as comfortable. Some lenses like Acuevue can cost you £30 a month so the Daysoft lenses are a lot cheaper. The negative is that the lenses come in a strip of 4 lens cups and it's a bit fiddly to open. Sometimes I open two by mistake. Overall, I really recommend these lenses as they are just as good as other brands for a cheaper price.

              A great daily lens

Daysoft Daily Disposables Contact Lenses..... More or less as soon as I needed to wear glasses, I tried out using contact lenses! Who really wants to hide such beauty behind a pair of frames! I used to have my eye tests done at Specsavers which mean that I fell into the trap of signing up for their direct debit for monthly disposable lenses which I found a pain to keep clean and more expensive than I would have liked. It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered you could buy contact lenses online and for a far cheaper price too. This is when I switched from monthly disposables to daily disposables. This works out far cheaper in the long run because you don't need any cleaners or the like to keep your eye hygiene up to standards. The Daysoft daily disposables are by far the cheapest I could find (I wanted the cheapest I could get). Another great thing about the Daysoft lenses is that instead of a basic 30 day month, they work it out so that you get 32 lenses in the pack. This means that per pair they end up even cheaper than all the other cheap alternatives. I have found then at the cheapest to be sold for £4.99 per month per eye. So basically £10 per month for lenses! This is a gr8 price considering I was paying more than this for monthly disposables!!! When I first tried these lenses I thought I was a good idea to just get a months supply so if they were pants I wouldn't have wasted too much money. The lenses arrived in a square cardboard box and inside each of the lenses were individually blister packed. I decided to carefully cut them up with scissors so I knew there was no chance I could tear open a lens unless I needed it (clever little me). The blister packs took some getting used to opening and are hopeless unless you have perfectly dry hands (which you should having washed and dried your hands before putting each lens in). The lenses are stored within a small amount of sterile water enablelling the lens to be easy to insert onto the eye and feel comfortable. Seeing as these lenses were very cheap, I assumed that they would feel uncomfortable and irriate my eyes more than others but this was not the case. They seemed to contain a good amount of lubricant in them to keep my eyes feeling comfortable all day (unless I was sat at the computer not blinking for too long). I did find I was rather heavy handed with the lenses at first and needed those 2 extra pairs as I would break at least two lenses in a month. However once I got the point hat I needed to be really careful and delicate with them I don't break them any more and the extra pairs are just a bonus. I have been using these lenses now for a good while and I have no plans to change to another brand anytime soon. I find them a moist and comfortable daily contact lenses that really does seem to be the best value for money that you can get! I think a 5 out of 5 star rating and an exceptionally high recommendation is in order! Many thanks for taking the time to read I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

                Disadvantages

                Daysoft Daily Disposable

Daysoft Daily Disposable Since the age of 12 i have been wearing glasses and from the first moment I tried them on I wanted to have lenses. I only got them a few years later because I was terrified with the idea of putting them into my eyes. I never realised that getting your lenses into your eyes is quiet easy and it's more getting them out what is the difficult part! The first time it took me almost 2 hours and my eyes where all red. Luckily I'm more a professional now and have no trouble getting them in or out. I love wearing them as they give me a feeling of freedom and comfort. Although I do wear my glasses again as I find that more comfortable for work since the whole day I'm behind the computer. My eyes always start to feel dry and with lenses that's just annoying. I had these Daysoft Daily Disposable before as I thought they where quiet handy for the day I wanted to wear lenses and they where only seven pounds for a whole month supply! That sounded to good to be true and I have to say it was. For seven pounds you get 32 lenses which is a good deal and you can easily order them online. I was quiet surprised the first time I got them since the package was really small. The lenses are not packed like normal lenses and they come in strips of 4 by 4. it's a easy package to get open as you just roll the lens cup off and then with your finger you attach the lens. Just be careful with digging in and using your nail because you will damage them. Do they work for me? Not so much. They feel easily breakable and a few actually break while trying to clean them. Getting the lens in and out my eyes is easy enough so no problem there. It's just that they don't let a lot of oxygen trough for my feeling. My eyes feel dry and irritated at the end of the day and I'm just glad I can take them out again. My optician said always when you eyes start to feel dry and irritated then you are not wearing the right lenses. I have to say that true for me. Yes they might be cheap but I assume my eyes are more sensitive that I need lenses and let trough my oxygen. It's a shame really because I did hear good stories about these lenses. They are cheap enough to give it a try, just be careful when your eyes don't feel right.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  I love them!

After many years of wearing glasses occassionally, ie, at home and not in public, I decided that I'd had enough! My eyesight was getting pretty bad and it was getting to the point where I couldnt read the board in lectures, and I was having to wear my glasses everyday which I hated it! I'd been terrified of contact lenses for years after hearing horror stories from friends about ridiculous things like them getting stuck at the back of their eyeballs!! Anyway, I booked an appointment and got it all sorted. I was trialled with some Acuvue lenses and although these were comfortable, they are also so expensive!! I did some research and looked around and discovered the Daysoft website. They claim to be just as good as the leading brand, but a whole lot cheaper, which is good! If you order 2 months worth of lenses then it works out at just £20 which is half the price as I was paying before! These prices also include delivery too so there are no extra charges on top of that! The Daysoft website is really easy to navigate and it guides you through the process step by step. First of all you tell them what brand of contact lenses you normally use and from this they can tailor make their contact lenses to suit what you are used to. Once you've done that you simply enter in your prescription for your left and right lenses. And then you're done, just enter in your details and wait for them to arrive! It states that the delivery time can be up to 5 days, and I got mine in 2 days which was great! They arrive in a really small box!! It about 5cm square and only about 1cm thick! I was surprised that a month's worth of contact lenses could fit into such a small box! There are no end of instructions on how to put them in which was great for me! I had only been wearing contact lenses for about a month so I was still pretty apprehensive about using them! If you go onto their website they have a whole page with pictures and instructions explaining how to remove the contact lenses from the packaging and how to use them, they even have a video on there too to help! It's really simple! You simply peel back the foil on one of the contact lens holders, you place your finger into the solution and the contact lens attaches itself to your finger, you then rotate it and place it in your eye! One negative, which isn't really a negative for me, but more of an observation! It says everywhere on the website that it is easy to open the contact lenses and that they are non-spill, and you won't spill any of the solution! In my experience, I have never NOT spilt the solution! It goes everywhere! There's only a tiny amount in there so it's not a big deal and it doesn't bother me at all, but to say it doesn't spill is ridiculous, I can't see any other way to do it, unless you are extremely careful and gentle with them! I even got my boyfriend to have a go and he spilt it everywhere too! The lenses themselves felt perfectly fine! They are really comfortable to wear and I haven't had any problems at all with them! I get really dry eyes too and I was worried that switching to a cheaper brand might make them worse but I haven't had any problems with them at all, I notice no difference between these and the leading brand! So all-in-all, if you wear contact lenses then these are definitely a good purchase for you! About half the price that you would expect to normally pay and work just as well as the expensive brands!

                  Disadvantages

Really cheap and good quality product, fantastic for dry eyes.

                  I have always suffered from dry eyes, but that did not stop me from trying contact lenses. I have been wearing them for the last 6-7 years, and have experimented with a number of lenses. I have tried both acuvue moist and acuvue TruEye. Daysoft lens are far better for dry eyes than Acuvue Moist or Acuvue TruEye. With the Acuvue products, I can only wear the contacts for an hour or so, before I need to start using eyedrops. The maximum number of hours I can keep them on for is 6 hours (and that's with a high tolerance level). With daysoft lens, my eyes don't start to feel dry until after 3-5 hours, and I can last all 8 hours (I am very strict in following my optician's guidelines in usage hours, due to my dry (damaged) eyes). The other great part is the price. They start at only £4.99 a box (15 days), so that's £9.98 for a month. That is absolutely great value, and also includes P&P (which takes 3-5 business days). The packaging is fantastic and doesn't waste space; they have an innovative "easy lens cup opening" which saves on packaging. The company sends the boxes in really thin boxes, so they can fit it into a thin cardboard box, which fits through your letter box (no more missed packages notes from the postman). Needless to say, in my opinion the fit on the eye is great. Some people may be wary that the lenses are too cheap, and prefer to buy a more expensive one. Well, if you like pouring money down the drain for an (in my opinion), inferior product... go ahead. The customer service is great; they phoned me up when they thought I had put down the wrong prescription (as it had changed a fair amount). I really appreciate that attention to detail, as I would have been annoyed if I had actually put it down incorrectly and they didn't notice. They also offer a reminder service, so when you're almost due to run out of contact lenses, they will send you an e-mail as a reminder to order some more. For new users of daysoft lens, they ask which contact lens you are currently wearing. They then match it to the daysoft product that most suits you. Very simple. There really isn't an aspect of this business model or website that I don't like. {this review is also available on ciao.co.uk}

Perhaps these work for some people, but not for me

Gave these a go because I was trying to save a few quid off my regular lenses. I found them on Google by typing in something like 'cheap contacts' The first ones(Daysoft 58) I ordered came in simple packaging and were supplied on a strip as opposed to individual breakable blister packs. When I put them in my eyes they were very uncomfortable, and much bigger than my regular ones, and feel wise, they were more noticeable in my eyes. So unhappy, I contacted Daysoft, and to be honest the customer service was great, they suggested I try a slightly different lense (Daysoft 72), saying that is was likely that i'd find these more comfortable. They also supplied these free of charge. Unfortunately I found them to be pretty much like the last ones and returned those too. I'm sure Daysoft have many happy users, but alas for me it wasn't to be. I was given a prompt refund, then went back to using Focus Dailies.
