Advantages: Very comfortable to wear and the price doesn't break the bank either.

Disadvantages: Packaging tricky to get into, you might forget your lenses are in they are so comfortable

I work as a chef and having been wearing monthly disposable lenses from Specsavers for around two years but on a recent annual contact lens check was told I might be advised changing to daily disposables instead. This was because my lens were getting too dirty too quickly affecting their capability due to all the smoke and grease my eyes were exposed to whilst at work in the kitchen. The problem I had was that Specsavers wanted over double what I pay a month at the moment for dailies instead of monthlies which, with the credit crunch, I could ill afford.

So I began looking on the net for an alternative and stumbled across Daysoft lenses. Only available online, these lenses worked out about the same price I paid for my monthlies (around £10 a month or thereabouts) provided I bought two months worth at a time. Figuring I had little to lose I decided to give them a whirl.

Looking on here for a review, I could only find one review which read uncannily like it had been written by a member of the company or someone with close links to the product. Since then they have been reviewed by somebody else more reputable but, like them, I am intrigued why there are not more positive reviews available not just on here but anywhere else on the net either. So far I have been very impressed by what I have experienced.

For starters there is the speediness of the delivery- on the website; delivery is stated as taking three-five working days but my order came through in two. You need a recent prescription to place an order and this warrants which lenses you receive so make sure you get the correct calibration and the right way round. The packaging, as stated by the previous reviewer, is a little tricky and although they do give you some instructions as to how to open the packet, I found it easier to find my own way in. They do appear to be slightly smaller than other conventional lenses but I am not sure if this is the same with all daily lens as I have only ever had monthlies. They also look like they are a bit more fragile but so long as you are gentle and not too heavy-handed you shouldn't get any problems. None of mine have split yet and I have been using them for over a month. Instructions are also given as to how to best insert your lenses as this differs from other brands too but I found that the same method I use with my Specsavers lenses seemed to work okay.

Overall, I can say I am pleasantly impressed. It feels really refreshing to have clean, new lenses every day and these Daysoft lenses are really comfortable straight from the start of wearing. There is no having to get used to them for a few days and I find my eyes getting less tired, less irritable and, when I occasionally wear my lenses longer than I should do (opticians recommend a maximum of 10 hour wear-time but in my lifestyle, this is not always practical) my eyes are o longer sore the next day. You do need to ensure you still have regular, annual contact lens checks though so do make sure you allow room in your budget for them- from my research most places charge you around £20 for a lens check. (With my previous payment plan with Specsavers, the yearly lens check and an aftercare service were included!!) It is especially important to get your contact lens suitability checked once a year as it can affect your eyesight otherwise and there is nothing more important than your eyesight!! It may sound a bit crass and easy for me to say but I would rather lose the use of my legs than my eyesight as most of what I enjoy doing is visual. That is not to do any disrespect to anyone who is physically disabled I might add, but would merely for me be the lesser of two evils.

But I digress; despite the apparent lack of positive or negative reviews (or any kind of feedback whatsoever), these contact lenses are excellent value for your money. You do have to order a minimum, of two months worth to get a discounted price which promotes bulk buying but this too is a good idea as it gives you plenty of time to order more before you run out. I also find it handy to still have some contact lens solution handy as, although you don't really need it, I do find this makes things easier when I'm trying to get my lenses in. Purchasing has never been easier- you just need to fill out your details on the website and make payment and the site is easy enough to find from most search engines; just type in DAYSOFT DAILY DISPOSABLE LENSES and the site should come up.

Summary: A real bargain for contact lens wearers- change to Daysoft disposables today!!
