Advantages: Economical, Good quality lenses, excellent customer service

Disadvantages: I experience slight redness - this may just be my eyes though!

I'm pretty new to the whole contact lens malarky. I recently had a trial at a high street opticians, where they were persistently trying to push their astronomically priced contact lens scheme on to me - needless to say I refused. I was going to forget the whole lenses thing and stick to glasses, but my friend recommended I tried Daysoft as they as are cheap and reliable.

I went to their website, and easy enough ordered a month's supply of my prescription (for both eyes) which came shockingly to just over £10 -- compared to £30 something I would of expected to pay on the highstreet for daily disposable lenses.

I have to say I was SO impressed with the customer service and delivery. I ordered the lenses on a Saturday afternoon, and my order was on my doormat first thing Monday morning! Which was fab as I could'nt wait to try them out!

The packages the lenses come in are small flat boxes so they easily fit through the letterbox - so there are no worries about being at home for deliveries etc...

Now.. The lenses come in strips of 4, slightly different to regular disposable packets- this is to reduce packaging and keep the costs down. Because of this strip packaging, the method of opening each packet is different, in that you almost have to peel the pod from the foil. This seems a little daunting and confusing at first - but trust me , the website is very informative and has a video that shows you how to open them correctly.

The lenses themselves..................

As I am relatively new to contacts, I havent had much experience with them. However I did notice that the lense was slightly larger and thicker than the CIBA lenses I was given for my trial - this took a little getting used to. Naturally as i'm still practicing putting them in, it took a while to insert them, but now after a few weeks of having them i'm getting a lot quicker at putting them in - so I can't say I had any troubles with this aspect.

The lenses also have UV filters in them to protect your eyes, something that not all cheap lenses have.

One thing I have noticed - this may be due to these lenses or not, I can't tell for sure - Is that after wearing them for a few hours my eyes are slightly red/bloodshot - particularly around my iris. Now obviously because I am new to lenses I'm not sure If it's my eyes or the lenses? But I experience no discomfort or dryness with these lenses.

After a few weeks I was emailed by the customer support centre for the company, wanting me to rate and give feedback on my order. The company seem to be very focused on customer service, which is great!

Overall, I would recommend Daysoft to all contact lense wearers and those who have been umming and ahhing about trying lenses, who have been put off by the cost ( but I would recommend having a free trial at an opticians first to check eye health, have a practice etc. before) at £4.99 for a whole months supply you really can't go wrong. I really wish I had tried lenses years ago!

Summary: An economical way to wear contacts - really wish I had used them sooner!
