I have recently purchased a new lawnmower, which arrived in a large cardboard box.
Inside along with the mower, was a large amount of polystyrene and plastic sheeting used as packing.
A vast amount of polystyrene and various polythene products are buried in landfill sites each year. Some of which can take up to twenty years to de-compose,and an even greater amount will never rot.
Now in the twenty first century,why can’t these companies produce an alternative form of packaging that is bio-degradable, this in tern would cut down on a great deal of polythene and plastic needing to be produced an d used then only to be buried or
Burnt. Surely this could only be a great help to the environment
