Advantages: Quality design, easy to open and close due to 'eyes'
Disadvantages: Shape means it digs in a little in pocket; lens sometimes on roof in transport
I'm always keen to give new contact lens cases a go. I think there are plenty of good designs out there, and it should in theory be hard to design something badly. Even the best cases are very cheap, so if companies can't produce quality designs then their product will stop selling pretty quickly as people opt for better and similarly priced designs.
You can get a pair of these froggy design contact lens cases for around the £2.50 or £3 mark, pretty standard in terms of price. Their design is quirky and visual, easily noticeable which I find is handy for something so small. I do find I mislay my white case on a regular basis, so a vibrant colour such as this is handy. It's a deep pink as well, so my masculinity isn't too affected!
In terms of quality, the bottom part of the case is quite shallow, so not much solution is used, making it economical. Be warned though, if you're planning on transporting the lenses that there's a large top to the case and a lot of movement may cause the lens to become stuck on the roof of the case and the liquid sink back to the bottom. No one likes dried out and shrivelled lenses just when you need to put them in.
One particular element I like about this is the ease of opening it. Anyone who wears lenses will appreciate the difficulties involved in doing anything when you have a bit of solution on your hands. Contact lens solution has a slight filmy feel to it and therefore it's often hard to get a grip on anything, eyelids and cases included! These frogs have frog eyes protruding from the top, giving an extra thing to try and grip to if you're having trouble opening or closing the case. Although very small, there's just enough to make it easy every time.
Overall, this case is a quality design. I've had no problems with the thread, the case has stayed closed when I need it to, quite firmly as well. There's no leakage and the case fits snugly wherever you may need it to. The only slight bugbear I have is when I carry them in my pocket. Other case are quite flat and you don't notice them, but this one with its bulbous top means that it can dig in and is more noticeable when in your pocket. As I say though, a minor detail. Other than that, I have no complaints. Great case.
Summary: Quality contact lens with something to grip to open it
