Good drops which ease dryness for lens wearersr

Having tried virtually every dry eye drop on the shelf, I picked up some Optrex Contact Lens Drops in the hope that these would help to soothe my eyes which become increasingly dry as the day goes on. I regularly have to take my contact lenses out to get some relief from the uncomfortable feeling of having something in my eye.

I prefer drops which can be put in without me having to take my contact lenses out first and these fitted the bill nicely. They are safe to use and will not damage soft contact lenses, unlike other brands. These are also easy to apply, once you get used to guessing where your eyes are and they do have a nice cool, soothing feeling when they go in. Simply blink, or close the eye for a few seconds to disperse the liquid and they get to work.

I found these reasonably effective and maybe only had to put them in 4 or 5 times a day, which is perfectly safe although a little expensive as the bottle seemed to go down very quickly. They did help with my dry eyes and kept my lenses moisturised for longer than they would have lasted normally. This helps to prevent them tearing too which is important.

Overall I would say these drops are fair, as they do deliver what they claim to deliver, I would just prefer it if the effects lasted for several hours at a time.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Ease your eye irritation from lens use with these handy drops.

I have worn contact lenses for a good while now and at first I never really noticed any problems. Obviously you don't really know what is the 'norm' and you just try to deal with it. During and after wearing contact lenses I find my eyes dry and often suffer from irritation. The disposable lenses I wear occassionally give me trouble, but I also wear glasses most of the time, so daily disposable lenses are what I have. Although they have a high moisture level to help with dryness I still find that from time to time I need a little extra lubrication.

The Optrex range has a product for every different symptom of eye complaint and is available over the counter from your local chemist or supermarket. The Optrex Contact Lens Drops are not a new product but they are a product new to myself as of a few months back. The drops come in the typical Optrex box, the solution is then contained within 10 single dose vials. I love this as it ensures the drops are sterile when you apply them, it also means you can keep some in your bag, some in the fridge etc. The vials are easy to open with a simple plastic tab to tear off. Each vial contains 0.25ml of solution - ideal for applying and then disposing of the packaging. There is little room for error, however, as there are only 4 or 5 drops worth of solution in each vial!

I trust the Optrex brand as I have used their eye drops in the past successfully. I usually store eye drops in the fridge and find that now I am confident using drops I can achieve better results as I can apply the drops accurately. Priced at around £4 they are not cheap, as you are effectively paying 40pence per vial! I think I would prefer the bottle in hindsight for value for money, but overall the fact each vial is sterile for each application appeals to me a lot.

The results of the drops are that if I have trouble once contact lenses are applied then I can use these drops and the lenses seem to fit much comfortably. I sometimes apply the drops beforehand if I am having trouble putting in my contacts, but I usually use them once the contacts are in. Ultimately the drops reveal their effects after I remove the contact lenses. My eyes feel fresher and not dry and itchy. I also find they are less irritated and I don't get red and angry eyes afterwards.

Overall I find the Optrex Contact Lens Drops a great help to my limited contact lense use. If you find you are lacking lubrication at any point during the contact lense wearing process then I advise you consider lenses with a higher moisture content, if this fails to work then the Optrex Contact Lens Drops may well work.

Fab eye drops designed with contact lens wearers in mind

I've been wearing contact lenses for years and have never really had any problems with them, but I've noticed over the past couple of years my eyes were starting to feel dry quite early on in the cycle of my monthly lenses. I was just putting up with it really, occasionally giving my lenses an extra couple of cleans throughout the day with my normal cleaning solution. Then I won a competition in Take A Break, an Optrex goody bag - admittedly not the most exciting prize in the world, but one product that really impressed me was a box of Optrex Eye Drops which was included. It impressed me so much that it's now a regular purchase as the drops definitely make my eyes more comfortable while I'm wearing my lenses.

They're a quality eye drop, which you'd expect from Optrex, and work to revive and refresh dry eyes. Their main draw is that they're suitable for use while you're still wearing your lenses; this makes them easy to use if you're out and about, and as the drops are packaged in individual vials this also makes them great for taking out with you.

You use them as and when you need to, Optrex suggest a single drop in each eye but personally I usually need two or three to make as much difference as I like. Each vial contains enough drops to do both eyes and it's advised you discard the vial as soon as you've used it. If I'm being completely honest I've propped a semi-used vial up on the bathroom shelf if I'm having a particularly dry-eyed day and know I'll need a top up in an hour, it's not the cheapest eye care product so why waste a drop?!

The drops are comfortable in the eye, they cause a small amount of tearing but this is short-lived and actually seems to help the refreshment felt around the area covered by my lenses. It's amazing really, my eyes literally soak these drops up and any dryness is pretty much instantly soothed. They feel almost *too* gentle and I'm not sure how effective they'd be if you had any real irritation, but then again I'm very careful with my eyes and would definitely visit the doctor or optician if I experienced anything more serious than contact lens related dryness!

My eyes look visibly clearer after using the drops, the whites look healthier and they cause zero irritation as far as my contact lenses go. The drops cost £3.96 in my local chemist, this is for ten vials which may seem expensive but you're paying for at least ten days worth of comfort  - and suddenly it seems a bargain!  Obviously it's less cost effective than buying a bottle of eye drops, but for me the convenience and effectiveness of the product makes them worth every penny.

I've never, ever had a bad reaction to these eye drops and without fail they've always moistened and soothed my eyes. My contact lenses don't start sliding after application (this happened with a previous brand I tried due to the slightly 'gel' consistency of the drops) and I don't find there is any blurring of my vision afterwards.

I don't use them every day or if my eyes are feeling just a tiny bit dry, this isn't a cost issue it's simply that these drops don't have any preventative effects so there's really no point in using them when you don't need to. At the same time I don't have a problem with using them every day for a period of time if I'm having problems with my eye comfort. At the moment I'm using them more than usual as my hayfever is hitting so my eyes are getting a bit gritty feeling when I'm outside, when it comes to dealing with allergy related soreness the drops are also excellent by the way. They don't stop the itch in the way hayfever-inspired eye drops do, but if you're using anything medicated you'll usually need to remove your lenses so the convenience of this Optrex product wins the battle for me!

      Disadvantages

      A great handy drops

      ==Optrex Contact Lens Drops==

I have worn contact lenses now for a good number of years and from day one I have always had some kind of irritation that meant I needed a bit more lubrication. I have tried different types of contact lenses than contain a higher water content but this didn't seem to make much difference and by the end of the day my eyes were sore and tired.

The Optrex brand is a highly trusted one and a company that has been around or a good number of years. They seem to be the market leaders when it comes to such things as eye drops and eye related products so I can't help but ponder over the array of different eye drops and potions that are available when I am in Boots. I have tried the Boots own brand but more of ten than not I revert back to getting an Optrex product as these generally seem to work better and last longer.

These Optrex Contact Lenses drops which I am reviewing here actually caught my eye (pun intended) because the box was not made up of one large eye drop bottle but contained 10 small single does vials. This mainly appealed to me because of when I buy one larger bottle I will often forget to put it in a different hand bag or if I have taken the eye drops to work I will invariably forget to bring them home again over the weekend and have to go out and pay a lot of money out for a replacement bottle of the drops.

The individual vials means that with the same price as one standard bottle of drops would be you get 10 little vials to spread around and always make sure you have some eye drops with you. There are not too big and perfect for taking on a night out as they don't take up hardly any room in my small handbags.

Each vial has 0.25 ml in which is really the equivalent to about 4 drops (2 in each eye) but theses are big drops and often I only need one drop in each eye to give the relief I need. The vials are made of a clear plastic which although tough and not liable to pop in your hand bag are surprisingly ease to open with a twist off plastic tag like lid. They are thin and lightweight but easy to get the drops from thanks to the slightly pointed end where the lid comes off and the drops are dispensed out.

Once you have used the drops you can simply throw the vial away and it all is very easy and mess free. The drops themselves are made from Sodium Hyaluronate 0.20 grams and Sodium chloride but are specially designed with contact wearers in mind.

The drops work wonders at relieving my sore and often hot eyes. The two drops in each eye will instantly cool my eyes down and work around my contact lenses to make my eye lids ease across them far smoother and much more comfortable. Any gritty feeling or discomfort I got was soon gone and the clear, fragrance free solution seems to do a wonderful job at generally giving my eyes a new lease of life.

I think all in all these vials are a wonderful idea. I do still by the larger drops bottles but these smaller single use ones are so handy to take out and about and it means you are never caught without some form of lubrication for your eyes. They are easy to use and do really help ease the hot and uncomfortable feeling that comes from wearing contact lenses and the general strain on the eyes when the day is nearly up.

I can't find fault with these drops as for £4 they are not overly priced and the quality and handiness of them means that they are worth every penny and in my opinion a top score of 5 out of 5 stars.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

a really good product for the price!

I have been wearing contact lenses for about 2 years now and I often find that my eyes become tired and dry throughout the day. I came across Optrex contact lens eye drops by chance as I desperately needed something to replenish the moisture in my eyes. I was really happy with the results that I had from the drops!

Pros: It's not pricey at all with only being £4 in boots and usually it is on offer too! Added bonus!]

Secondly, it really did the job for me, even though I had to put a few more drops in my eye that was recommended , it still made my eyes feel as fresh as when my contacts first went in!

Thirdly, it isn't a big bottle at all so now I carry it around in my bag all time, especially on nights out when in clubs the smoke irritates my eyes constantly! Just be careful that it doesn't smudge your eye make up!!

And finally I regularly use Optrex brands for my eyes so finding this product just makes me recommend Optrex even more!

      Cons: There aren't any!
Well except if you use the drops when you have make up on, if you're not careful it does smudge!

All in all I thoroughly recommend this product to long length contact lens wearers!

Perfect for winter eyes or contact lens

      Optrex Contact Lens Drops!

I have been using contact lens now for about 3 months and they are really great and weird... being able to see clearly without glasses! Amazing! But there are a few draw backs to contact lens which include, irritation if you put them in the wrong way around, cleaning them when I'm half asleep and the biggest draw back is that they make my eyes really dry and some times a bit sore.

I bought the drops hoping that they would alleviate the dryness and they did! Just put about 2/3 drops in your eyes, it says 1 on the box but that doesn't really seem to help the situation! My eyes can also feel like this on a cold dry winters day and it helps even if you don't have contacts in that day! They make my eyes feel 'moisturized', soothed and more comfortable than before.

Overall I would recommend this product if you have contact lens as they can make you eyes really dry and a bit sore sometimes, and this is perfect for the problem and it is only 10ml so you can carry it around with you in your handbag or pocket! It also reduces any irritation from the contacts! It is only about £4 at boots as well!

Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful! :D
