Advantages: soothing and cooling

Disadvantages: The bottle always lasts longer than a month so wish it had a longer exp date

I regularly suffer from dry sore eyes, especially when I first wake up on a morning. Sometimes my eyes are so dry and irritated that I can't bear to apply make up on them. As soon as I go anywhere near my eyes with an eye liner, they start to water and generally feel quite sore. I tend to get bags and red patches round my eyes from rubbing them, making the problem much worse!

I chose these eye drops because of its soothing qualities and because the PH level was balanced to same level as tears. I bought them from Superdrug and paid £3.99. Optex do a wide range of eye drops but these seemed specifically for the problems I had encountered.

*Description*

The product comes in a 10 millilitre bottle. Under the screw on lid is the applicator end of the eye drops. The main body of the bottle is simple to hold and it is made from soft plastic so it is easy to squeeze. It is a bit tricky at first, but the relief is so great that the task becomes much easier quite quickly.

*Directions*

After making sure your hands are clean, simply tilt back your head and gently pull the corner of your lower lid down and tilt your head back. Apply 1 or 2 drops into your lower eyelid. Or, if you prefer, close your eye and apply 1 or 2 drops to the inner corner, then open and blink to spread the drops. Try and make sure you are relaxed and try not to look directly at the applicator as it hovers above your head as you will probably blink before the liquid hits the eye.

Always apply your eye moisturiser after putting the drops in, if you are doing it first thing on a morning. I once applied the drops on a freshly moisturised face and the eye contour cream mixed with the eye drops and ran into my eyes; very painful and my eyes were more red and sore than they were in the first place.

*Relief.....*

These drops are specially formulated to help your eyes tackle aspects of modern living, such as contact lenses wear, computer usage, driving, air conditioning / central heating and polluted atmospheres. The formulation contains specially designed ingredients that replenish your tears, lubricating your eyes so you can feel an immediate difference. It is the dryness that makes them feel uncomfortable and itchy in the first place.
I do not use my drops through the day as I usually have some eye make-up on and I do not want it to run. There are times though after watching the computer screen or being in an air conditioned / central heated room for too long that I could do with some of the relief the eye drops give. Even driving sometimes makes my eyes feel itchy and dry.

They are made with purified water and are safe for use with contact lenses. I seriously notice my eyes more sore on a morning and especially in winter when I have the central heating on, this dries them out the most. As soon as the drops hit the eye, they feel cold and soothing and spread across the eye, making blinking easier and smoother.

After washing my face I always use one drop in each and then blink and then add the second. I gently pat down on my under eye area as it occasionally runs and I need a dry space to apply make-up on. My eyes feel soothed instantly and much more awake. If I wake with bloodshot eyes, the drops usually help combat this and make them feel refreshed.

*Care of product*

You can use them every day but after 28 days of being open they must be destroyed. It contains no preservatives, hence the short expiration date. I do not religiously stick to this but your eyes are delicate and susceptible to bacteria so it's always good to take a bit of care.

Summary: Refreshing drops that offer instant relief
