OPTREX REHYDRATING EYE DROPS FOR DRY EYES
It's that time of year again when many of us are fighting off the itchy eyes associated with hay fever! I actually unfortunately suffer from dry eye all year around caused by other allergies and medication that requires drops twice daily but once hay fever hits me its almost like someone is drying out my eye balls, if I do not apply some drops fairly frequently throughout the day I find myself trying to scratch my eyeballs out and end up with red eyes which is not the best look in the world!
Over the years I have tried many different brands of drops from the GP's or bought many over the counter, due to the frequency I add drops I tend to have 2-3 bottles on the go at anyone time so they are always within reach. One brand I buy often is Optrex, they sell many different types of eye drops and washes and are most probably the most well know brand of eye care. I have to admit I tend to just grab which ever bottle is on special or cheapest in the store as long as they are designed for dry, itchy or tired eyes but I do prefer to stick to the Optrex brand, they are a little bit more expensive than store's own brands but the quality is consistent so I always know the bottle I am buying will be good quality.
THE PRODUCT ....
The bottle I have in front of me is my most recent buy, it is rehydrating eye drops for dry eyes, they are advertised to be used to help combat eye conditions caused by aspects of modern living, such as contact lenses wear, computer usage, driving, air conditioning / central heating and polluted atmospheres.
To use you simply follow the instructions below
Ensure your hands are clean and dry and the bottle's seal is intact before use.
Gently pull the corner of your lower lid down and tilt your head back. Apply 1 or 2 drops into your lower
Or, if you prefer, close your eye and apply 1 or 2 drops to the inner corner, then open and blink to spread
Optrex Dry Eye Drops are suitable for frequent, everyday use.
The drops themselves look just like water in look and consistency, I will admit I have accidentally got a drop or two into my mouth and they just taste a little salty like tears. There is no scent at all to these drops.
The effect from the drops is instant so from the moment that I apply them I feel the benefit and my eyes feel rehydrated. The timescale for re applying these drops really does vary from day to day. I can find that sometimes I need to apply drops 5-6 times a day during summer but during winter I may get away with simply apply drops when I wake and before I sleep.
All drops must be discarded within 28 days of opening, this is to minimise the chance of causing an eye infection.
THE PACKING ....
The Optrex drops come in small card board boxes which contain a small white plastic bottle. The bottle has a label on the front that is blue with a large Optrex logo, below that is the information informing us which type of drops they are and what eye condition they are designed to help with.
The back of the bottle contains very little information, I am a little shocked to note that it does not contain the instructions for use but simply informs us to see the carton for instructions.
SIZE AND COST ....
These drops come in a 10ml bottle and I bought them from Boots for £3.79 although I do find the cost for drops really does fluctuate.
I really like these drops, they work really well and give me instant relief so no more looking like I have been binge drinking for weeks because I have tried to scratch my eye's to death.
Would I buy again? Well I buy them all the time so yes!
Would I recommend? Yes without hesitation!
I would give these 5 stars out of 5.
Summary: Brilliant eye drops, worth the cost.
