==Optrex Eye Wash With Eye Bath==
My eyes are very important to me and so they should be really considering all they do. I suffer quite badly with sore and dry eyes and I put this done mostly to wearing contact lenses and sitting for hours and hours at a computer screen. Not good for healthy eyes.
I am always buying eye drops and lubricants but another item that my bathroom cabinet is never without is this eye wash and bath. Its a product I always remember my dad using as he too suffered with sore eyes a fair bit and I have known this product and this brand a good many years.
For a box of Optrex Eye Wash and Eye Bath you will expect to pay around the £6 to £7 region but this is well worth it as the product does last a good deal of time. Its available in a lot of chemist and sites online but I always stick to getting mine from Boots as I know its always going to be there and I can get it slightly cheaper by using my discount card. I haven't' seen a lot of competition when it comes to store brands doing there own one of these but I guess if you looked hard enough you would probably find one. However this product is well worth paying that little extra for because both the solution and the little plastic eye bath you get are so very good.
The basic idea of the product is that the solution washes and soothes your eyes with the natural plant extracts and distilled water that the wash is made up from. The product comes housed within an outer cardboard box which is strong enough to hold the glass bottle inside well and give you all the necessary information on use of the product, ingredients and the like. Inside the box you get a large 300 ml clear glass bottle and a small plastic eye shape cup item. The glass bottle has Optrex embossed on the top rim and there is a plastic screw cap which has a seal that needs to be broken on first opening so you know that it hasn't been opened before. As far as the bottle goes it is a straight up and down one that stands well in my bathroom cabinet without much chance of being knocked over and the clear glass allows you to see how much of the product is left inside so it is a good design.
The directions for use are also printed on the label on the bottle as well as being on the cardboard box which I threw out when I first opened the eye wash. These directions are easy to follow and are the same for adults and children alike. It is worth noting however that this solution should not be used when wearing contact lenses or just before you are going to wear them so I will often use it at night before I go to bed.
When using the eye bath you always need to rinse it out before use and then when you pour the wash into the bath you only fill it to the little line that is shown inside the bath so as not to use too much or too little, this is about 1/3rd of the little cup. You need to then bend your head slightly forward holding the eye bath by its base then slowly place the bath over the eye. You have to slowly raise your head, opening your eye so the wash flows freely over it. Once in place you then gently rock your head from side to side for at least 30 seconds and the wash is complete! Get rid of any left over solution that is left in the eye bath and then repeat this for the other eye. It takes some perfecting but once I got the hang of it, it becomes second nature.
As soon as I get the eye bath over my eye with the solution in, my eyes feel cooler and a lot more refreshed. The days irritation are soon washed away and although I make a bit of mess it is well worth it to get the clean and revitalised feeling I get when using his product. After several times of practising using it I find it simple to use and really beneficial. The only trouble I find it that because it states on the bottle that the solution should be used within 3 months of opening I never quite use up the entire bottle before I should really throw it away. I tend to keep it a little longer than the three months recommended but often worry as eyes are so susceptible to infections that I don't feel its worth using an out of date product. There is also a use by date printed on the bottle which is always a long way off the 3 months when you first buy it.
All in all I really rate this eye wash and bath set. It is definitely worth the money it costs as it makes my eyes feel fresh and alive after a long day of computer and pollutants and they really need a good wash out. I would highly recommend it to everyone who suffers with sore eyes as using it at night makes my eyes feel fresh and bright when I wake in the morning. I think a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and a top recommendation is well deserved!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
many thanks for taking the time to read.
Summary: A great buy which your eyes will thank you for
