      Advantages

      Disadvantages

If you can get past the irritation this is a great, reasonably priced brand that preserves contacts.

I have found this product to be satisfactory for it's use - it keeps my lenses in great condition even when in similar solutions my contacts have started to degrade. The bottle is great for application as a gentle squeeze can fill a vial/bottle in seconds whilst tipping it up will allow a couple of drops onto a lens for application without spilling everywhere.

One downside is if you go a while without using contacts you may find the solution irritates your eyes slightly at first, but once you're back in the swing of things that irritation subsides - I only note this as while contacts can sometimes be irritating whilst putting them in for the first time after a break I have noticed a little more irritation from this brand than others.

Still at a perfectly reasonable price and the preservative qualities it has exhibited with my lenses I will keep on using it and keep up on wearing contacts even for brief stints to prevent the irritation - as currently I only wear contacts for aesthetic purposes.

A good alternative at half the price

With the cost of contact lens cleaning solutions constantly creeping up, I decided to give a Supermarket own brand a shot. At half the price for the same size bottle I figured how different could it be.

The answer is, no different at all. I found this solution to be every bit as easy to use and effective at cleaning as the big brand names which I used previously. Like the others, it is a sterile solution which can be used to rinse the contact lenses and then to soak them overnight in a contact lens case. It does not claim to replenish the lens like some of the others do however I found that after using this solution, my lenses were as clean and as comfortable as ever before. I was happy knowing that any bacteria had been killed off and did not have to worry about being so stingy with the solution as I was not counting the cost all the time.

Overall, I am a convert to the own brand solutions as I feel they do the same job as solutions double the price.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        great value for money

I needed some new contact lens solution so when I saw that Tesco had an all in one solution for £4 I thought I would try it out. I usually pay nearly £10 for a bottle of solution which is the same size as the Tesco one (250ml). With a saving of nearly £6 I couldn't resist it. It also comes with a flat lens case which I replace when I get a new bottle of solution.
It comes in a plastic squeezy bottle which is really easy to use. It fastens very securely as I lay the bottle on its side in my draw and it has never leaked. I don't get any stinging when I put my lenses in straight from the solution, which I had experienced with other brands and they keep my lenses moist all day. After my lenses have been in the cleaning solution all night they are always clean and clear. I wear my lenses all the time so I go through solution fairly quick, this bottle lasted me around 2 months.
I have never had a problem with this solution and find it is just as good as some of the more expensive brands. At the price it is I now wouldn't use anything else.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

bargain contact lens solution from Tesco

I wear contact lenses most of the time, and as such I get through a fair amount of contact lens cleaning solution. I've worn contact lenses since I was in my teens (I'm in my 30's now), and so I've had years of experience with both the lenses and the solutions.

I used to always use the Bausch & Lomb Renu solution, as this worked for me and I didn't see any reason to change, however like most things the price just seemed to be going up and up and so I decided to shop around. I've probably tried most of the contact lens solutions out there over the years, some are great, and some I don't like.

The solution that I've been happily using for about the last 4 months is the Tesco own brand All-In-One contact lens solution. It's really cheap when you compare it to the branded lens solutions, for instance a bottle of Renu retails at around £10.99 for a 240ml bottle, whereas the Tesco own brand solution is just £4.70 for a 250ml bottle. So effectively I get 2 bottles of Tesco own brand solution for less than the price of just 1 bottle of Renu. This makes a bit difference to the cost of my contact lens regime when you consider that I buy monthly disposable lenses, daily disposable lenses, saline, comfort drops and obviously the cleaning solution.

I find that a 250ml bottle of the Tesco solution will last me around 2 months. I don't wear my contact lenses 7 days a week, probably 5 or 6 days a week on average, and I also wear the daily disposable contact lenses occasionally as well so I don't need to clean my monthly lenses every single night. The bottle states that you do need to dispose of any used solution 90 days after opening.

This solution is really easy to use, and you use it just like all of the other all-in-one solutions on the market; you remove each lens in turn, place the lens in the palm of your hand and pop a few drops of the solution onto the lens, gently rub each side of the lens with the pad of your finger taking care not to damage or nick the lens, rinse the solution off with either saline or a bit more of the all-in-one solution and then place the lens in the correct side of your contact lens case, which you've filled up with more of the all-in-one solution, repeat for the other lens, leave to soak for at least 4 hours or overnight, your lenses are then clean and ready to wear in the morning.

You can put your lenses in straight from the solution in the morning, but I normally find that more often than not the Tesco solution does make my eyes sting a little bit when I do this. I solve this problem by just giving each lens a quick rinse with saline before I put it in, this then makes the lenses instantly comfortable when I put them in. I do find that most solutions make my eyes sting a little bit when I put my lenses in, so this isn't specific to the Tesco solution.

The solution comes in a plastic squeezy bottle, you just remove the lid and squeeze the bottle to dispense the solution; a gentle squeeze will dispense a small amount of solution to use to rub your lens clean, and a hard squeeze will dispense a steady jet of solution to fill your contact lens case. Each packet of the solution also comes with a contact lens case, it's a flat case as opposed to the barrel case which I like, as I always manage to nick a piece out of the edge of a contact lens in the barrel case.

I have not had any problems at all with this solution, I find that it keeps my lenses perfectly clean and clear, and it continues to do so for the life of the contact lens i.e. a month (well actually up to 2 months sometimes as I don't always use a new pair every month if I've only had a few wears out of them). I will definitely continue to buy this contact lens solution as I think that it's brilliant for the low price, it works just as well as the majority of the branded solutions for a much lower price.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A perfectly good value solution

I normally wear continuous wear contacts so don't use solutions, however I do need to have a bottle at home and in the office for those emergency cases when I need to handle the lenses, or my eyes just need a bit of break. As I generally don't go through the full bottle in 3-6 months use by period most solutions have, a Value solution is what I buy and what normally suffice just well.

Tesco All-In-One contact lens solution is a great example of such value solution, at £4.70 for 250ml bottle being approx. half price to compare with "proper" branded solutions like Renu or Bausch & Lomb. I'm not really sure why "All-in-one" though - what "All"? It comes in a simple white plastic bottle with screw on top and a simple sticker that gives all the information you need - how to use and store, warnings, ingredients (usual disodium edetate, 0.0002% polyhexanide, sodium hyaluronate, in isotonic buffered solution). Bottle is packaged in a cardboard box that also contains a leaflet, but all info needed is on the bottle so you can comfortably dispose of these without losing anything important. There is also a contact lens holder - dark blue and white, simple, plastic, perfectly useful. A use by period is 3 months, although I normally have it opened a bit longer and can't see it having any bad effect on my eyes or lenses.

Solution is suitable to use for hard and soft contact lenses, including silicone hydrogel (continuous wear) ones. Tiny opening allows to dose the liquid comfortably without spillage and effectively I cannot see the solution being any different from more expensive ones, so having used this, I don't see the point in buying branded stuff in this case. It cleans and disinfects the lenses effectively and without hassle and doesn't cause any irritation, so it really is a good value product.

I have recently tried Tesco All-In-One Contact Lens Solution for the first time. I was encouraged to do so after reading a review on Dooyoo and I thought it would be worth trying it. A 250ml bottle of the Tesco All-In-One Contact Lens Solution cost me just £4.00 from Tesco, as opposed to £9.42 that I normally pay for my usual brand of contact lens solution. It does also come in a 100ml bottle which can be quite good for travelling as you can then take it in hand luggage.

The All In One Contact Lens Solution comes in a plastic container which is sold within a cardboard box. There is a comprehensive product information leaflet inside the both, which includes user directions. The packaging is simple enough, but at the end of the day it's what's in the bottle that counts. There is a dropper style nozzle on the top of the bottle and so this allows for just small amounts of solution to be dispensed at any one time - and therefore I wouldn't waste any.

It's important to me that my contact lenses are kept as clean as possible so that the lenses stay in good condition and also my eyes remain infection free. The main contents of this lens solution is saline, but there are anti-bacterial properties to this also and so the lenses are not only cleaned, but also sterilised. In order to use, I just clean my hands, put a few drops of the solution on my hand and then gently clean the lens with my finger. It is then just a matter of storing the lens in the solution overnight. I do need to change the solution every night.

I do find that the lens solution works well. My lenses seem to be as clean and dust and grit free as using my more expensive solution - and so I think I will use this one in future.

        Disadvantages

Quality contact lens solution from Tesco

You would think that wearing contact lenses would be simple in terms of what to buy, which accessories and solution to use, etc. But the truth is that there are a ridiculous number of products and companies all vying for their products to be bought and used, and it's hard to know whether or not something is worth buying.

The main solution I have used in the past is Renu - when I first started wearing contact lenses, my parents wanted to make sure that I used a recognised contact lens specialist for my products, and as they were paying I wasn't too fussed. As time has gone by and contact lenses have become a lot more common, the science behind them and research into them more detailed and clear, other companies have jumped on the bandwagon and the supermarkets have even joined in with their mass market lower priced products.

This is where this product comes in. If you asked me 10 years ago if I wanted to try a Tesco own brand of contact lens solution, I probably would have paid the extra money and stuck with Renu. Nowadays, with their specialist opticians and scientists creating all manner of products and keeping up with current analysis, I feel a lot more confident using their products, which is handy when you consider the price difference.

Tesco own brand contact lens solution comes in a 250ml bottle and costs £4. With proper daily cleaning and storage, this will last you a good few months, a cost which is easily absorbed. Renu, for example, charges £10 and you get a 240ml bottle, a noticeable difference I would say.

The bottle is a solid one, with a quality lid and nozzle which doesn't drip when you squeeze it. It's also very easy to either squirt a thin stream of solution for filling the cases or to get out a few drops when you're cleaning the lenses before or after wearing. This to me is quite important, as there are a few products with awful bottle dispensers that just waste the solution and make a really annoying mess.

The main thing though is the quality of the product. The solution is slightly filmy, a concoction of chemical products that I can neither spell nor pronounce. I find that it does a pretty good job as well, giving enough of a slightly soapy feel that you know the lens is being cleaned well. I don't think you need to use more solution than with other brands such as Renu, so this gets the thumbs up.

Storage is the big test, to maintain the quality of the lenses. Again, easy to dispense and sit the lenses in the solution, the amount you use depending entirely on the size of the case you use, of which there are an abundance and you can get some fun and quirky ones. This solution doesn't usually come with a spare case, assuming that you already have one this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Sitting them in the solution overnight reveals quite positive results - the lenses are clean and with a quick rinse before putting them in, the feel once they're in my eyes is nice and comfortable, feeling clean and disinfected.

I do occasionally get some sort of an awkward feel when they're in, but I usually put this down to the astigmatism in my eyes, as in they're not a consistent curve so the lenses will never sit absolutely perfectly on my eyes. I find that after a long time of wearing, they're slightly drier than with Renu, but it's negligible most of the time and I sometimes wonder whether this is more me imagining it than it actually being the case.

Overall then, this is a quality contact lens solution that works out at less than half the price of a product such as Renu, which if you get through one of these every couple of months or so (or even quicker depending on how much you take them out and put them in and clean them) doesn't add up nearly as much as the more expensive optician specific brands do. At £4 and returning results that seem to be as good as the top brands if not the same, I'd highly recommend this.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Recommended

I have been a contact lenses wearer for many years and my previous Opticians always recommended Renu when I bought contact lenses and they use to cost me quite a bit on top of buying the monthly contact lenses. As I was recommended only this contact lenses solution I was a bit anxious to change because when it come to the hygiene and safety of my eyes I did not want to take any chances.

For the past couple of years I have changed Opticians and now use Tesco Opticians and I asked the Optician about changing to the Tesco All in One Contact lens solution and we said that would be fine as long as it's a all on one solution and not just a saline solution.

Tesco All in One Contact Lens Solution comes in a bottle of 250ml with a brand new contact lens case to store away the lenses. It costs £4 which is cheap compared to my previous brand Renu that also came with a spare contact lens case and the bottle was slightly smaller 240ml and cost me £10. This is more then double the price of the Tesco brand. I was not sure whether quality wise the Renu may be better or perhaps it was only due to the brand. Tesco all in one solution does state it disinfects, can be used for daily cleaning, removes protein, and is moisturising for added comfort. This seems sufficient for safely wearing soft and hard contact lenses. It also states is is suitable for Silicone Hydrogel lenses.

I have been using these contact lenses solution whenever I use monthly contact lenses. Monthly contact lenses are soft lenses that are thrown away every month. However they need to be disinfected and stored in a contact lens case with solution over night. Then rinsed in the morning and I again clean both side with the solution before putting them in my eyes. Tesco Solution is suitable for all these things so I get all this done and the solution will last up to a month. With the Tesco Solution you get a contact lens case which is very much needed as I like to replace mine regularly, ideally monthly to prevent build up of bacteria and also I wear mascara and find that sometimes my case gets a bit of mascara left inside if I was not thorough enough with cleaning the lenses.

This Tesco All in One solution can also be used for hard contact lenses and the type some wear for a year before replacing. I have never tried this type of lens before but I have been told they have to sometimes use special products to remove protein that can build up on the lenses. The Tesco solution claims it removes protein so should be suitable for those that wear this type of lenses. For monthly contact lens wearers removing protein is not necessary.

Recently Tescos have changed the packaging of the solution, it use to come in a blue and white box as shown in the picture above. However now it comes in a translucent plastic packaging so if you are looking for this product this information may be useful.

It is fairly simple to use and have the full instruction of how to use on the packaging so that should help new contact lens wearers in-case they forget how to look after their lenses. It is easy to open the bottle for the first time you have to screw cap anti-clockwise to break the seal. The cap can be easily lost so that is sometime I make sure I don't do as then there is a chance the tip can get dirty and contaminated. Before handling of your lens of course wash and dry your hands properly. To clean lens you place the lens in your hand and add 5-10 drops to the lens and gently clean both sides for at least 20 seconds. To disinfect you place lens in case provided and fill with solution and then close lid and allow to disinfect for at least 4 hours and preferably overnight.

The solution should be stored at room temperature and away from children. The solution should be used within 3 months opening and before expiry date. If it causes irritation of any kind stop using and consult a specialist.

Tesco all in one solution has been prefect for me as since using I have had no irritation, infection or any other problem. It seems just as good if not better then my previous solution and costs less then half the price.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            cheap and practical

I have been wearing contact lenses for over two years now, I do have glasses but much prefer to wear my contact lenses. I wear monthly disposables lenses, I first bought them from specsavers as a package and the package included my contact lense cleaning solution but I found the package to be rather expensive. After a few months I found a on-line website to provide my contact lenses and a good brand too much cheaper. I had to buy my own contact lenses solution but I was not a problem as it would save me money.

I have tried several solutions from different shops but the one I buy most often is Tesco's All In One Contact lens solution. I usually do my food shopping online as I live in a rural community and find it easier to do on-line and I order the solution with my grocery's and it costs £4.00 for 250 mls bottle. Which I find is good value for money and is a excellent cheaper alternative.

I use the solution each night, I top up the small contact lens container I have that holds each lens individually, I try to put enough solution in each lens holder so when I remove the lens and place it in the solution it completely submerges the lens in the solution to clean and keep the lens moist. I do this every night and find that the 250 mls bottle lasts me two to three weeks.

In the morning I remove the lids from my contact cases and reuse my lenses, I then drain of the lens solution so it is ready to use again that night. The solution is gentle on my eyes and causes no discomfort at all. I find it to be excellent value for money and a very good own brand tesco product. I have recommended this to a few people and they too are also pleased with the solution. The container has a nozzle that pours slow so no mess is made or waste.

Contact lenses are to me quite expensive to buy and so can some solutions be, so I much prefer this cheap alternative. Would recommended this to anyone who is not a brand snob as I use this all the time and feel its pointless to waste money on branded lens solution.

            Disadvantages

A good value for money multi-purpose contact lens solution

My current contact lens plan is cheap but the solutions need to be bought seperately. I've found over the years that solutions vary in price and can cost quite a lot. So when I saw this one in my local supermarket, I was impressed with the price and decided to give it a go.
It's great value for money and a bottle lasts ages. My boyfriend and I used to share a bottle and it lasted us a good couple of months. Since we started just buying a bottle each I get even more use out of mine though.
The solution comes with a fresh contact case which is a bonus. It means I can just chuck my old one away and avoid nasty bugs and infections.
It's an all in one solution which means it cleans and moisturises so no need for extra products. This solution can be used for hard or soft contact lenses - a great product considering I got it in my local Tesco! The clear bottle means you can see how much, or how little is left and after a minimum 4 hour soak in this stuff, your contacts will be clean and good to use!

            -

I have to buy my own contact solution because i don't have a package deal with my contacts to keep the cost down. I have tried many different brands but keep going back to the Tesco all in one contact lens solution because its cheap and works very well.
I was surprised when i first spotted Tesco's own brand of contact solution because i just did not think they would do it.

Tesco all in one contact lens solution comes in a box along with a lens case and instruction booklet. It costs £2.40 for a 250ml bottle pretty good price compared to the other brands on the market.
Tesco all in one contact lens solution can be used for hard and soft contacts. I have the soft lens that get changed every month.

Tesco all in one contact lens solution comes in a white plastic bottle with a screw cap lid and a dropper shape for dispensing the solution. It has a label on the bottle with the same print that's on the box, i.e picture of the eye and some basic information on what the solution is for.

To use the Tesco all in one contact lens solution you can rinse the lens in the palm of your hand buy squirting the solution direct onto the lens, i only do this if i get dirt on the lens for a quick clean but store them in the free case it comes with and fill with the solution.

The Tesco all in one contact lens solution sterilises the lens, keeps them moist and giving comfort when the lens are placed in the eye. I have never had any irritation when using the Tesco all in one contact lens solution. It works very well and such a great price.
If you are a lens wearer i highly recommend giving the Tesco all in one contact lens solution a try. Its fantastic and i will not use any other brand now, saves me a small fortune now.

A great, affordable contact lens solution! Five Stars and thumbs up to Tesco

I am always on the look out for a bargain in everything I have to purchase in everyday life. Contact lenses are a definite indulgence for me and I wear them purely for cosmetic reasons I will admit. High street opticians can be reasonable, but I found online retailers to be the best price wise, until it came to adding contact lens solution to the basket which can cost anything up to £15 per bottle! I was not prepared to pay more for the solution than the actual contact lenses and was very glad to find this on the shelf in my local Tesco's!

Any person who wears monthly contact lenses during the day knows they must be kept in a special contact lens solution whilst they are not in use. This is to keep them moist and bacteria free, without this they would shrivel and dry out and become un-wearable.

The solution comes in a white plastic bottle, cylindrical in shape with a screw cap to keep it secure and free from germs. The solution comes in a box with both instructions and a contact lens holder, again some website charge you separately for these containers so this really is a good buy.

To use the solution is very simple, you unscrew the cap and squirt a small amount of solution onto the palm of your hands, you can then clean and rinse your lenses before and after use, using the tip of your finger for about 30 seconds on each lens. To store your contact lenses you pour the solution into your usual contact lens case filling them about half full and then pop them into it, making sure that they are covered and stay immersed in the liquid whilst not in use. Being an all in one solution there is no need to buy any more specialist treatments for your lenses. This does everything that you need to keep your contacts hygienically clean and free from protein build up.

              Storage Instructions

              Store below 25 degrees centigrade
Store away from moisture, heat and direct sunlight

              For daily cleansing
              Protein removing and disinfecting
Fur use with both hard and soft contact lenses
Also compatible with Silicone Hydrogel lenses
Use within six weeks of opening

I have been buying this solution for a few months now and found it to keep my contact lenses as clean as the brand that was supplied with my lenses I was receiving from an opticians when I initially started wearing them. In reality I think these solutions are pretty much the same, they all claim to do the same job and no doubt have very similar ingredients, which is why I would recommend this solution to contact lens wearers, it is a bargain! Priced at only £4 for a 250ml bottle I would recommend this for both quality and price. This is available on the shelves of most large Tesco stores and also online at Tesco.com.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              A good solution

Sometimes I forget that I wear contact lenses and the drawbacks that this has. When packing for a holiday recently, I realised I had forgotten to pack my contact lens solution. But it was too late! We were already on our way to the airport, so in case we couldn't get elsewhere, I popped into Tesco and found this contact lens solution. I used it the whole holiday, and thanks to it I was able to witness the beautiful sights very well!

The solution is like any other really. It comes in a little box and inside is a 250ml container - not large, but large enough for a few weeks at least. The container has a screw cap, which comes off easily to reveal a very small pin-prick hole in the top, where the solution squeezes out.

The solution has a few great uses:

              1. Used to clean your contact lenses. Squirt on a little bit of this and use your fingers to rub them clean.
              2. Used to store your contact lenses. Squirt some in your contact lens holder or even a cup if worse comes to worse and store your contacts safely in here.
              3. Add a little moisture to dry eyes.. this isn't really what the product is for but I found it did the job when I needed it!

The solution has worked well to keep my monthly contact lenses in good condition. I don't imagine you'd use it for dailys unless you took them out for a short while whilst showering for example, as the contact lenses come in cases with some solution already in there when you first put them on. For £4 at Tesco, the price isn't cheap but it never is with contact lens solutions. I would recommend this to anyone.

              Thanks for reading

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

An effective lens cleaning solution but I find it is not as comfortable on the eyes as other brands

having worn contact lenses for the past 5 years I've tried numerous brands of contact lens solution. Tesco All in One contact lens solution is definitely effective, but is not the best of all the brands I have tried.

All in One solution is designed to clean your contact lenses overnight. You simply remove you lenses, place them in a lens case in separate compartments and soak them in solution for at least a few hours. All in One solution both disinfects and neutralises the lenses, meaning that you can clean them without having to purchase both disinfecting solution and neutralising solution and going through the painstaking process of applying them both separately. With all in one solution you simply submerse the lenses in it and leave them.

It does an effective job of cleaning the lenses, as I have never really had any problems with my lenses stinging or eye infection when using this brand. However, I find other brands of solution to be more gentle on the yes than this one. With these other brands, once I have put my lenses in, my eyes adjust very quickly with no discomfort or blurriness, however with Tesco brand solution I find that it generally takes longer for my eyes adjust and it's quite blurry for a few minutes so I have to keep blinking until I can see properly. That is not to say it is not an effective product, because once I have gotten used to it then i am fine for the rest of the day, but it is jjust the initial discomfort which lets it down. perhaps I just have over-sensitive eyes but I find other brands are gentler on my eyes.

It comes in a white plastic bottle with a pull-off cap on top which has a small hole underneath for dispensing fluid. If you tip the bottle upside down the solution comes out in small drips, or you can squeeze it gently for a light stream of fluid. Each bottle comes with instructions for use and a lens case with separate left and right compartments marked out.

At £4 a bottle from Tesco it is a very good price and cheaper than many other all in one solution brands, although Sainsbury's all in one solution is the same price and I find that is much more comfortable.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Best lens solution for the price

Lenses are expensive business - the cost of the lenses, the visit to the opticians and all the associated paraphernalia. And as we're talking about our vision, cutting corners for the sake of price isn't really an option.

So when a decent product comes along at a reasonable price, you'd be mad not to get it.

              -What is it suitable for?-

Storing and lubricating contact lenses. You can also use this product for rinsing after removing the lenses at the end of a day, but I personally feel this is a waste of the product, as a cheaper saline solution will do the job.

If you don't use a peroxide formula for storing lenses, this does the job quite well, although you won't get the disinfecting benefits. The lens solution does come with a screw top lenses cases for storing lenses, and I generally only use this solution for storing if I need to take my lenses out for a couple of hours (sleeping on a train etc). Otherwise I personally prefer to use peroxide for overnight storage.

              -Quality-

Accordingly, what I mainly use the solution for is rinsing and lubricating my lenses in the morning. The solution has a thick, almost silky feel, which is perfect for making the lenses comfortable to put in first thing in the morning. The solution also completely rinses off any of the peroxide residue, so there is no stinging or irritation when putting in the lenses.

I have in the past used brand names for lens solution, but since trying Tesco's own, I haven't looked back. There is actually NO difference whatsoever between this solution and the brand names. The only major difference is that this solution is about half the price!

              -Packaging-

The solution and lenses case used to come in a cardboard box. Now, the packaging is a bit more 'green-friendly', and comes with no packaging at all, except a small strip of plastic attaching the lenses case to the bottle.

              -Overall-

A brilliant product at half the price of the brand names. If you're still buying brand name solutions - STOP! You only need this product
