Any regular reader of my reviews will know that I suffer with dry, irritable eyes - an unfortunate condition passed down to me by my mother so unfortunately it is a family genetics thing as my mother inherited it from her mother too so I know that this isn't a condition that is going to go away and therefore the only thing I can really do is get on with it and make sure that I have some eye relief products in for when the need arises.

I have tried and tested most products on the market, but these tend to be in the form of eye drops and it took me a while to use eye sprays as I couldn't see how a spray that you spray on your eye-lid's, and not directly onto your eyes could work. Also, this type of product is generally quite expensive in comparison to standard eye drops.

However, my mother tried Tesco's Tear Mist Eye Spray and she got on really well with it so I thought it was worth giving it a go. At £8.50, this stuff wasn't cheap but if it worked well and quickly, then the cost didn't matter to me. Even at this price though, the Tesco spray was cheaper than similar products from the likes of Optrex which can retail at around the £13.00 mark so generally this isn't all that expensive when you compare it to other brands. For your money, you get a small 10ml bottle of the solution, which doesn't sound like much, but as only a miniscule amount is dispensed at any one time, and you get no wastage like you do with eye drops, the bottle will last you much longer than you would think and as it is a small bottle, it is easy to carry around with you in your bag so you can use this on the go, as well as at home.

The one advantage these do have over eye drops is their ease of use. No matter how long you have used eye drops for, or how careful you are, you will always make a mess and end up with the solution running down your face. However, that is not a problem you get with this spray and it is far easier to control and manage.

The spray is really easy to use. You simply close your eye, not tightly though but so your eye lid is firmly shut and spray the solution onto the eye lid. The spray dispenses as quite a fine mist so covers the entire eye lid area. The liquid is clear and doesn't really smell of anything. It is quite fine and feels cold. As soon as the solution hits the eye, you immediately feel a cooling sensation over the lid which provides a certain degree of relief, almost instantly.

I have to say this stuff did work rather well. Once you spray the solution onto your eye lids, you feel tears forming which then rehydrates the eyes and eliminates the dryness and therefore you find your eyes are then not irritable. The chamomile within the spray also really soothes your eyes and I was pleased to note that this was a really quick process.

My eyes can become dry and irritated very quickly with no warning. It is a really uncomfortable thing to happen and isn't nice at all so it was actually really good to find a product that relieves the symptoms as quickly as they come on.

A few minutes later and my eyes feel as good as new again. This stuff obviously isn't a cure for the problem, as there isn't one as far as I am concerned. It is purely used to relieve the symptoms as and when you need them. I have just gotten to the end of my first bottle and I will be purchasing another. I don't like using drops away from the home as I get in a mess, but I am happy to use this and it has become a godsend when I need to relieve the symptoms at work as it doesn't make my eye problems an issue anymore.

Overall, this is a really great way to relieve dry, tired, irritable eyes. Yes, it isn't cheap, but if like me you get the symptoms often, having a good product that works is worth every penny and I personally feel this is worth every penny. It is cooling, works well and works quickly which is everything I get from this product and therefore, it comes with a high recommendation from me.
