GDT8546RZ is a 4-channel PCI RAID controller offering the option of connecting up to four Serial ATA drives. Parallel ATA (IDE) disk drives can be linked with an optional accessory.

The controller is based on the Serial AT Attachment (SATA) technology, satisfying the demands for inexpensive entry level RAID solutions. Its compact construction allows GDT8546RZ to be used in low profile systems.

The controller is not only suitable for high density and/or entry-level rackmount servers, but also for high-end desktops and workstations.
