I originally received my slow cooker as a Christmas present a couple of years ago and at the same time I received this cook book. I have used it endlessly since and have thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Introduction The first chapter of the book is the introduction which covers some specifics about the benefits of slow cooking and the different country cuisines covered in the book. It also takes you through how to get started, the size of your slow cooker, preheating, heat settings and what to use each setting for. It then goes on to explain how to prepare your food for the slow cooker and how to adjust the recipes for your size of slow cooker. The ...

finished product - again, not too cramped and easy to understand. Before even getting to the actual recipes, there are a few guides at the beginning of the cookbook. Sara Lewis has provided the aspiring young chef with a guide to all the equipment that will be used throughout the book, each with a picture to go with the small description. She also describes the cooking techniques that are mentioned, such as dicing and beating. Some of these have pictures, but most have small guides to how to do them. I actually love this part of the book, as it allows you to make sure you have exactly the right equipment (or as close as possible anyway) and that you understand what the ...
