I had to buy a new cooker last year when my last one decided to break down on me. I looked through so many websites to find the best one for me and I found this one at 1.2.3 appliances.com for £240 but in the white instead of silver. the delievery was quick and i couldnt wait to test it out.
Having a family of 4 i need alot of oven ... space and this was perfect.
It is freestanding and has a double gas oven. The top oven also functions as a grill to tast your foods under. It comes with a grill tray and an extra guard to place about the grill to stop your dials from melting, although i have never had an issue with this. The door opens downwards and actually stays down so its less risk of the door closing on your hands as you are trying to take something out of the top oven.
The main oven has 45 litre capacity and a built in light so you can see how your food is cooking without having to open the door. perfect for when you are baking cakes and bread. The door on the main oven opens to the side but you do have to be careful because the door is heavy and starts closing whilst you are taking out the food and if you are not careful you will burn your arm because the door gets very hot too. It goes up to gas mark 9 which is very hot and wouldnt recommend anyone cooking at this temperature unless stated in a receipe or on the food instructions
4 Gas burners are on the top and it has a ceramic top which makes cleaning very easy but you do have to watch what you use on the top because it is easily scratched and once it is scratched it gets harder to clean. All 4 burners are different sizes so for boiling milk for instance you can put it on the smallest ring to minimise the chance of it boiling too quickly. You dont have just 2 different settings for heat, you can gradually reduce or increase the heat to how you want it.
The controls to the oven and hobs are just above the grill/oven. They pop off easy enough for cleaning and very easy to turn.
It is a very heavy cooker and it does take 2 people to pull it out to clean underneath it but its not very often you do have to pull it out because the hobs has a rim around it and that helps to catch any food that has been dropped.
All in all a very good cooker, it cooks the food evenly and quickly, and it comes with a grill tray and a handle that is detactable for easy cleaning and it also has an extra cooking tray too. Very nice buy amd very please with this. very good price too Read the complete review |

Hotpoint EW36
by Seven17
I bought this as a replacement for my old oven, it was actually a down grade in size because I didn't have much money, which is the first thing you should know, it's good value for money. It has all the good points you'd find on a more expensive oven such as good space, very accurate temperature control and multiple oven features, but ... the down side is that it can be troublesome to clean.
It would be simpler to just throw it away and buy a new oven but that's simply not an option. The hardest place to clean is around the sides and the top of the door where the seal meets the metal.
There are two small gaps in the side where the trays fit in, and unless you have a Cotton bud or fingers the size of a two year old, you can't get in them and grease just builds up endlessly. Very unhygienic, so it does take much longer to clean than most ovens. It does have "self cleaning", but it does miss numerous spots, these two holes being one of them.
For power consumption, it's pretty good, it uses about 1kw on a low temperature once it's heated up. I have to say for space, it's more than enough for a small family. Me, my wife and my son can have dinner this Christmas no problem, fitting a small turkey in with some Yorkshire puddings but for a family bigger than us, I would recommend looking at something bigger.
It takes very little time to set up, it really is just one of those "plug and go" ovens, with the exception of finding all the packaging bits everywhere - which by the way are slightly overkill with the whole thing being packaged in more plastic than is needed
Overall as a day to day easy to live with oven, it's a charm. Read the complete review |

Delta Mini Oven
by 2night
This little oven by Delta (a name i had never heard of apart from the airline) was an absolute God send when i was studying in med school. It's small enough for any room, but most people will use this as a camper oven or a bed sit oven as it's the perfect size to just sit on any counter top. It simply plugs in like a microwave but cooks ... like a standard oven, food out of this tastes so much better than that from a microwave. My mum got me this when she heard i would be living on beans on toast as do most students. She wanted to guarantee I at least ate some wholesome food.
I did, I ate a lot more good food than I would have with out it. It can't take very big portions. It is best suited to individual single portions of food, again think of a microwave .
Appearance wise it has got an all over White body and a clear see through door with easy to use simple controls on the right. And a metal interior as you'd expect. There is a tray that you can use as a roasting tin or to collect any drips, just simple pop underneath anything you think might be a bit messy. There is also a movable wire rack, that you can adjust into lots of different Height slots according to your needs. This is also fully removable. These slots that are built into the wall of the oven don't feel very strong, so I never cooked a small stuffed chicken in it for example, as I didn't have the confidence that it could take the strain. It definitely could have cooked it as it goes up to 270 degrees centigrade. It is however great for pizza, hot pockets, waffles, crispy pancakes, chicken wings and lots more.
It has a handy timer that works like an electric egg timer. You simply twist it and it starts ticking down. It can be set for up to 30 minutes. If you need to cook for longer when it pings, just reset it.
I found this to be of great use when I was away from home. It made cooking "real" food possible in any otherwise impossible setting. My dad now uses this when going on fishing trips and says the baked fresh fish wrapped in tinfoil comes out perfect.
If you are looking for a small, easy to preheat, oven, that cooks great tasting food, I can't recommend this further. Read the complete review |
