I used to hate the cooker I had as it was a oven and grill both in the same compartment, and it never seemed to cook well, as the flame for the oven was at the bottom instead of at the side where most of them are. I wanted a new one for a while, but it was having the money to buy one. When we moved house it seemed like I had no choice, as the old cooker broke in transit. But having just getting a mortgage I was worried how I could afford it, so we got it on my boyfriends Argos card the cooker cost £299.99. You could pay more to get it installed too and also included delivery, but that was £80 more and I know someone who could fit me it for just £30 who is corgi registered so I went with them and saved myself £50.
The cooker is black in colour, I wanted a different colour to white, as I seem to have always owned white, so I wanted this one, it has four gas rings, two medium ones, one large one and a small one. The main ones I use are the medium and the small one. The grill comes with one shelf and the grill tray, it also has a detachable handle, which does come off easily so that you can close the grill door, do not close the door while the grill is on though as it does say to keep it open. The oven comes with two shelves but you do not get any trays with the oven, so this is something you will need to go out and buy.
Once the cooker was set up it was ready to use straight away, and I was well impressed at how well it worked. The rings lit straight away as did the oven and the grill. Then I tried to light one of the back rings, and it seemed to take ages to light, which I knew was not right for a new cooker. But them when it did light I kept it pressed in but as soon as I let it go it would die out. So I looked in the instruction booklet and rang the number on the book. They were very helpful and sent an engineer out the very next day to have a look. Well didn't I feel stupid when it was because the ring was not aligned with the ignition, so it was no fault with the cooker just me not checking properly. After this was sorted it worked perfectly well.
I have cooked several meals in this cooker now, and they have all been spot on with the cooking times, normally I have to keep checking things to make sure that they do not burn but this cooks them to perfection, although yes I still check as I can not get out of the habit of checking. The grill is simple to use and that also cooks things as good as expected, I find it if I am honest a pain to keep attaching the handle so I cheat and use a tea towel and its just as good.
I would recommend this as I think it is one of the best cookers I have had, apart from the small problem at the beginning which was not really a problem it has been fantastic. it is so easy to clean, if you do keep up to it, the dirt will just wipe off, without too much elbow grease. It was a little more than I wanted to spend on a cooker, but since buying it, I think it has been well worth the money and I would not think twice about buying one of these again.
