This cooker comes with a ceramic hop and warning lights to tell you when they are hot, when you first see it you may think it has a double oven, but the top cavity is only a grill.
When I fitted it into the kitchen the floor was a little uneven and the cooker has not any adjustable feet so, I had to level it by packing the feet with wood (not a good) the manual was not written very well, which was not a great help.
The hop being ceramic is easy to clean but I found it is best to use a special ceramic hop cleaner to keep it looking nice, I did find out after about 2 months the hob did have a few scrapes on it but this did not effect the working of the hob, which heats up and cools very quickly, and the markings on the hob are starting to fade.
The top grill is the only grill on the oven and the door will not open fully so it is not easy to get the grill pan out sometimes also the handle on the grill pan tends to come off when you put down.
The oven is a good size and I have never had a problem fitting anything in it (inc a large turkey) the lining is easy to clean, as the oven is very low you do need to lie on the floor to clean the back of the oven so may be a problem for some people.
The controls are clear and easy to use except the hob controls turn anti-clockwise and the grill turn clockwise ok when you get use to it. However both the grill and oven work well.
We bought a Beko fridge and a Beko cooker for the same reasons as most other people - they tend to be the cheapest available. This Beko cooker does offer all the facilities most people need, including a fairly efficient fan oven and a smooth top which usually makes cleaning much easier and looks more modern.
The hob rings heat quite quickly, although the top oven/grill does take its time and does not hold heat very well. Nevertheless, it has always done everything asked of it.
However, the lack of quality, particularly of the exterior of this oven, is shocking. Within a few months rust was appearing and cracks in the white coating. We of course did not use strong cleaning products on it, but even so, both the white coating and the coating of the smooth top has disintegrated rapidly. A friend commented that it looked like Beko had actually failed to use heat-proof paint - which hits the nail on the head, that is exactly how it appears. Moreover, even the gentlest of wipes with a cloth results in the indicator lights by the front knobs disappearing altogther - the red-coloured plastic 'lights' drop backwards into their holes and disappear forever!
In short, this oven has not been too bad at cooking. Clearly, however, the rapid and shocking disintegration of all aspects of the outside means it is not going to last very long at all. It is bad value for money - an extra 100 pounds would get something which will last many, many years.
Purchased the Beko DC5422 brand new from Currys and within 4 days it had developed 2 faults.
Firstly, the rear right ceramic hot plate stopped working, quickly followed by the oven developing a fault too whereby it wouldn't even switch on.
Bad enough but got much worse thanks to Bekos shocking customer support and the unwillingness by Currys to do anything about it either. Both refused point blank to repair or replace the cooker as it had been installed in a 'commercial environment' (or small cafe to you and me).Needless to say wherever it is used it shouldn't develop 2 separate faults in less than a week and we've had to pay more money on top of the original purchase price to have it fixed ourselves.
Absolutely SHOCKING service and warranty from both Beko and Currys and our advice would be to steer well clear.Don't waste your hard-earned money.
Hope this helps you to make an informed decision.
