“ Brand: Cannon / Fuel Type: Dual Cooker / Energy Rating: B / Wok Burner / Automatic ignition „
This is a very smart looking cooker, and gives my kitchen quite a proffessional look. The Hob is the normal 4 ring design, but the pan supports are cast iron and really chunky. It has three different burner sizes, two small, a medium and a large double ring burner.
The Hob itself is really smart in stainless steel, but can be quite tricky to keep looking clean. You have to soak off any spillages becuase anything other than a soft cloth will scratch the stainless. And it quickly builds up fingerprints. I have found baby oil works quite well at getting it looking good.
It has an oven timer, which I guess is fairly standard these days, but it was a first for me and I find it really useful, especially as I often get distracted by kids when I am cooking, so it saves me from burning the dinner. The control knobs seem a bit plasticy and have quickly got a couple of cracks going through them, but this does not really notice that much.
The Grill heats up really quickly and you can use both the top and the bottom as ovens. You can also take the inner glass of the door off to aid with cleaning.
The Hob can be converted to LPG, although this is a nice feature, it is of no interest to me, but I assume it could save money.
You can also get a matching splashback, which does actually finish the look off really nicely.
I wanted to change my separate hob/oven for a larger oven capacity, but didn't have room for a larger 'range' cooker.
After looking about I chose the Cannon C60DPX. We paid £560 for it online.
Its a great looking model, with range styling, but will fit into a conventional cooker space.
I have been using it for a couple of months now, and there a few points to mention
I still have to crank the heat up on the bottom fan oven - something I didnt need to do with my old stand alone, seemed to cook well at lower temperatures
I find the racks in the bottom oven sticky and don't slide well, feels slightly unsafe when trying to take large casseroles out
The bottom door is side opening and seems to close over of its own accord before I have finished getting things in and out - I have tried levelling with the adjustable feet but still persists
Its hard to get the cast iron pan supports completely clean after spillages
On the plus side, the oven beeps at you when it has reached optimum temperature, the display is easy to use and see.
I find the top oven great for every day cooking - kids stuff etc
I havent had to clean the inside of the cooker at all, just a wipe to the base and its fine
The top oven/grill has a sliding support for the grill pan, this is excellent as there is no need to juggle with silly handles and oven gloves and heavy trays. This feels very secure
All in all, a good product, though I wish I had went for one with an integrated backsplash/lid as due to the gas regulations mines seems to sit a bit firther a way from the wall than I would like, easy for stuff to fall down the back
Three burner sizes for improved cooking flexibility / Fully programmable electronic timer for main oven, with clock and minute minder / Short name: Cannon C60DPX
