This has been the family cooker for a couple of years now, to replace the old Cannon before it (the type with a high grill). *Cannon reliability* The brand name Cannon carries a certain prestige and a reputation for reliability. This was borne out by the durability of the previous cooker, which lasted a good twenty years. *Features* This cooker is part of the Cannon Professional range. Its features include: - A stainless steel finish - Cast iron hobs - Large hob for a wok. No glass cover for the hob is included. The cooker is dual fuel: the hob is gas and the oven is electric. This means there is more control over the cooking temperature for pans etc, while benefiting from the lower price of electric for the oven (which is fan assisted). A bright orange digital display shows the current time when the cooker isn't on; otherwise it displays the oven temperature. The cooker has a full-sized oven and a small oven which also doubles as an electric grill. A knob at the front of the cooker can be turned one way for the oven and the opposite direction for the grill function. The bottom oven is the fan oven, and also has an easy-clean lining (which works). Overall the cooker was well worth buying. It looks attractive in the kitchen, cooks food well (including food in woks), and the electric grill works effectively and fast. The only downside to this cooker is that Cannon oddly decided to put the diagrams of which knob turns on which hob BELOW the knob. Therefore, unless you memorise which to press, you have to keep bending down to see the diagram below the knob before you can use it. Also, like all stainless steel items, it shows fingerprints well.
