      Advantages

      Disadvantages

If you only own four sauce pans, you don't need this!

I have owned this oven for a few years now, and I have mixed feelings about it. I was initially attracted to it because it looked so good, however after using it for a while now - looks aren't everything!

This range style oven has eight gas hobs - two large, two small and four medium. The hob surface is black, so hides a multitude of sins which is a good thing, as it is almost impossible to bring the surface back to a shop bought condition - maybe I'm just not scrubbing hard enough. The bits that hold the pans above the hobs (what are they called!?) are enamalled black - I would definitely go for cast iron ones next time as these ones are impossible to clean without the black coming off.

The shiny silver knobs on the front never seem to look clean, and now I have cleaned it so much that the writing informing you what function you are using has worn off. I know my way around my oven, but my husband is completely lost, with eight hobs and two ovens and a grill to choose from, it's virtually pot luck! I have also had to glue one of the knobs back on, after the glue melted and it fell off. The writing used to say where to put the griddle, and when I saw this oven in the showroom it had a griddle on top, so silly me, I assumed it came with a griddle....but no! When it arrived minus the griddle I went back into Currys where I was told that I would have to buy one seperately! I made such a fuss that they gave me a free one just to get me out; plus point for Currys!

The top oven is an electric fan oven, and I have to say that I like it. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly and isn't that noisy. The glass slides out of the door, making it easy to clean. It is not as wide as single ovens (38cms space left with side racks on) so I have to be selective when choosing oven trays as some of them simply won't fit in. I use this as the main oven, and barely use the bottom (electric) oven apart from christmas when the turkey sits in it all morning, leaving me the whole fan oven for the rest of the dinner. The bottom oven is not a fan oven, but does cook evenly. As I barely use it, it is a good place to store all of my saucepans. Five shelves and a roasting tray with rack are supplied, and it is up to you how you distribute them, but four helves can fit into one oven if you need to.

The grill does not cook evenly. Mine seems to burn everything on the back right corner, and leave the rest of the tray uncooked - maybe I need to get that looked at! It is quite noisy, and you have to leave the door down for it to work - not very safe with young children in the house.

The bottom right section is simply a drawer. It is great for storing all of my utensils in, but I have to clean it out very regularly, as grease from the fan oven seems to drip into it easily. Four years on, and the drawer is starting to rust on the outside as the paint peels away.

This oven is among the cheapest for 100cm wide ovens, and you can definitely tell. It cost me around £750, and at the time I really wanted a double oven. With hindisght, I think that I would rather stick to a single oven and have the extra cupboard space as I only use half of it as glorified storage anyway.
