Overall a great cooker, I recommend

The Stoves 61EDO is what I would class as a more high end stove. I have recently purchased this, here is my indepth review.

      - Price and Availability -

The Stoves 61EDO is priced between £480 - £550 depending on which retailer you visit. It is available from independent electrical retailers, Laksys, Amazon, eBay and independently online. It is a fairly well known make and a current model, so shouldn't be too difficult to find - but shop around as there are savings to be found.

      - Looks -

We went for the Stoves as it's a 60cm stove, which is fully electric. It has a separate grill and oven which is fan assisted, and a generous capacity. Looks wise it is in an attractive black finish with stainless steel accents. The handles are long and rounded which match our new kitchen, and the whole stove has a quality finish to it.

      - Use -

It's very simple to use - there are six knobs, four for the rings, one for the oven and one for the grill. The oven heats up very quickly, it gets to temperature in around 7 minutes which I think is quite quick (compared to our older Smeg oven) and the rings, too, heat to temperature very quickly. There is only a slight hum from the four elements as it heats up and is in use, and the fan as it cools down after use.

The grill has five settings, five being the hottest, I tend to go for four as it's hot but doesn't burn food quickly. It's very easy to use and the Stoves 61EDO comes complete with a grill tray and pan. Similarly the oven has two stainless steel wire rack shelves though you can use the bottom of the oven if you are cooking a lot or want to warm something through whilst you are waiting for something else to cook. The shelves in both the grill and oven are adjustable over two and three points respectively.

Cleaning is a breeze, the oven is very easy to clean with regular oven cleaner, though it is better to do it sooner rather than later as the hob can get scratched with anything heavier than a regular cleaning sponge. Another slight issue is the numbers around the knobs, they seem to be very easily cleaned off which is a bit annoying as I certainly don't use harsh chemicals or scouring pads on it given that it is a new cooker. The oven doesn't get hot enough to self clean but it is easy to clean with a quick wipe around with a cooker cleaner such as Mr Muscle.

The Stoves 61EDO has an LCD panel in between the 6 knobs, this is clear to read despite not being backlit and you can set the temperature of the oven in this way. It shows a small arrow when the oven is up to temperature - a bit small for my mum as she can't see it without her glasses, a temperature indicator light would have been nice but it's not a problem for us.

      - Recommend? -

Overall I do recommend it, it is a quality cooker and built to last. The overall look of it is high end and I think the price reflects that, but it isn't unaffordable. It is an asset to any kitchen, and of course with it being free standing, one you can take with you should you move.

I will give the Stoves 61EDO four stars out of five, it's a great cooker and looks the part whilst working well. I haven't had it long enough to comment on it's longevity however and there are one or two little niggles which I wish weren't there but overall it's a good looking, very easy to use, quality cooker which I enjoy using and that's one of the most important things!
