I thought I would write about one of the things that I use every single day, except if I'm away of course. I would just like to point out that I have had my cooker for some years now and by looking at the picture that dooyoo have supplied, they have changed the outlay of the cooker panel on the top with the knobs and eletronic timer.
When I went to buy this cooker one of the main things was that it was wide enough to fit into the slot that the other one had sat in, as some cookers are a bit narrower than others. This one was perfect as it was 600mm wide, the same as the slot and the height was right too at 900mm. The depth was 598mm (excluding handles and knobs) which was what we needed.
I always like to have a ceramic hob as I find these very easy to clean and even after all these years it does still look like new with just a quick wipe down. Having four hobs with the back left and the right front being bigger than that other two. Now the back left has a dual knob that turns left or right, with 1-5 written on it twice. turn it clockwise to get a full plate heated or anti-clockwise for just the centre section to heat up. This plate is extra fast in heating up and as soon as you turn the knob it is bright orange instantly, so this is the plate you tend to use most.
You should only use flat based saucepans and round bottomed Woks are a no no!... as you must use a flat bottomed wok.
On the front you will find 3 knobs which have a silver band around the dial with the numbers written on very clearly, then you will see the electronic timer. This is worth it's weight in gold as it is so good for timing your meals, be it in the oven or on top of the hob. You will then find another 3 knobs. These are for one of the hobs and the other two are for the grill/oven and main oven.
The grill is a dual circuit which meat you can use the grill on full or for smaller items it can be cutans th back to just the centre section coming on, which is quite economical if cooking for one. This grill comes with a grill pan and handle which is a good size. This grill also converts into a small top oven, which is handy when you are cooking for a lot of people and this can take the joints/ chicken, while the main oven cooks all the veggies, yorkies ect... you can also use this function to heat up dishes and plates. There is a neon light that comes on and off throughout the cooking as it keeps to the temperature you have set it on. This also has a cooling fan that can be a bit annoying as it stays on after you have finished cooking and will continue for a few minutes after. his small oven goes up to 240C.
~~~The Main Oven~~~
The main oven is large and has a light inside ( we have had to replace this several times, but that is really easy to do). This is a fan oven so it quickly gets to the temperature that you require, so there is no need to preheat. Again this has a neon light that comes on and off as it mantains the temperature. When turning this oven off the fan seems to go off as well and not continue like the top oven. There are two shleves that can be mmoved into different heights. I have cooked a 14kg turkey in this oven many a time, which fits in easy, but having said that it isn't so easy for taking out after it has cooked as being that the oven is quite low under the top oven it can be hard not to spill all the fat and juices from the bird ( you need a strong man to lift it out for you!!). Again this goes up to 240C.
This oven also has a defrost setting, which can be handy, but if I'm honest I usually use my microwave to defrost anything.
The timer does several different things from a countdown, switching the oven on and off, switch off only plus two timers and of course just the timewith a 24 hour clock.
My cooker is black with a black ceramic top which I love to clean, I hope that this review has helped you decide that this might be the cooker for you. As I said earlier I have had mine for several years (more several than less, I really cannot remember when we got this except that it was from Comet. I dread to think how long ago it actually was!!) and I am still as pleased with it now as I was then. I believe that you can purchase this for around the £500 mark.
5 dooyoo stars from me as I'm usually quite fussy to please and this oven I love!
