Pyrex 3 Piece Roasting Set
by helen190390
I love pyrex dishes and probably have way too many of them!
I bought this set around 2 years ago from a local discount store for £9.99.
It can now be purchased from Sainsburys for £6 in their 70% off sale down from £20.
There are 3 dishes in the set. They are all the same shape but different sizes.
Large ... dish:
39x25cm
Medium dish:
35x23cm
Small dish:
26x17cm
The large dish is perfect for serving up a lasagne or pasta bake dish around the table with your family.
I like to put it on display when dishing up food, so I let people help themselves.
The smaller one I usually use for making puddings or just to act as a serving dish for vegetables, but it would be great for making dinners for one or your stuffing on Christmas day.
Py-rex is a very hard wearing glass which is resistant to extensive amounts of heating.
I have found it does take a while to cool when you've cooked in it which is good if you've made a desert and it's sitting on the side and you're having it after tea.
I don't think these dishes are best to cook casseroles as they aren't deep enough to hold that much liquid so would get a bit messy and they don't come with lids either.
They are good for doing your roast potatoes, roast veggies, pasta dishes and even just to serves things up in.
They clean up very well too. If you've been cooking with cheese in them sometimes it can burn to the glass, but with some elbow grease and a scourer you can get it off really well.
I don't see any faults with Pyrex dishes at all and have never had one break or chip either.
They come with 10 year guarantees so if you keep the receipt safe, you can get a replacement if yours breaks.
If you've never used Pyrex dishes (which almost everyone has or at least seen them) you would know the quality is second to none.
I have had a few of my Pyrex dishes handed down to me from my grandparents, and they are still going 50 years on.
Pyrex has been making glass kitchen wear since 1912 so that 100 years this year!
I do have to wonder if there are pieces of kitchen wear still floating about from then and still being used!.
Pyrex do a lot of different styles of dish from glass to ceramics.
I rate these 3 dishes as 5 out of 5 stars as there is nothing to fault them on at all.
They do their job, look lovely with a neatly layered lasagne in and clean up well enough that they look brand new for next time.
Thanks for reading

Ikea Annons Cookware Set
by topsyturvy
When I was moving house, I really needed to buy a pan set that was of decent quality but I really didn't have a lot of money to buy a fancy set which is why I headed straight to Ikea. I know that with Ikea, you get good quality goods and don't have to pay too much. Walking around, I couldn't really see much but when I got downstairs to ... where all the separate cookwares are sold, I came across this Annons pan set which looked really nice and had the right pans I needed and was a fantastic price.
APPEARANCE
These come packed in a set of three stainless steel pans with a black plastic handle and the biggest dish comes with a lid. Included in this set is a saucepan and a saucepan with lid and a larger pot with lid. They look really modern and they are not heavy at all too hold. You do need to assemble them yourself at first but it is really easy you just need a screwdriver and then you screw on the handles and that should be it. I have had mine for years and the handles have remained on, only one has gone a little bit loose.
ANNONS PAN SET
The pan set is really good for all kinds of cooking, they weigh 1.5kg and are dishwasher safe but I always tend to handwash mine to make sure they are thoroughly clean. They are suitable for use on a gas hob, induction hob, glass ceramic hob and cast iron hob. These being made from stainless steel are meant to be easy to clean and impact resistant. They have a three layer base, two layers of stainless steel and one layer of aluminium making it harder for food to stick to the pan.
There is also a steam vent to reduce pressure so that food doesn't easily over boil. I have used these pans for everything, cooking from scratch, making pasta, heating soup etc you name it and I have made some hard to move items and still with a scrub and a clean these pans have never stained and burnt food has always come off of these, they seem non stick to me as I haven't got any kind of scratches on the base of the pan which is impressive considering some pricey non stick pans I've had haven't been this good.
The pans are very easy to clean, I tend to soak them in hot water just to make life a lot easier for myself so that food moves easily. They heat up well if you use them for frying as oil will heat up quick in these and I also find that food doesn't really bubble over with these, so it must work. The handles are great on these, very sturdy and being plastic they never tend to overheat and keep to a cool temperature making cooking a lot safer with no burns.
The lids are handy but I don't really tend to use them that much when cooking. The small pan is good for heating soup and cooking for one but the medium pan is good for two cooking pasta etc and the large pan is the best with two handles on each side more like a casserole pan it has great depth and fits a lot in here for a bigger family. This is a great pan set for what I've paid and the fact they are still going strong a few years later, says a lot about the quality of them.
COST
I purchased my Annons pans in Ikea and for this set of three pans I paid £5.99 which is a bargain, like I said you do need to assemble but it is an easy job.
