I'm a big Le Creuset fan, as you will see from some of my other reviews. I have a number of their pans now and i wouldn't ever go back to a cheaper alternative.
Le Creuset is a well known cookware brand with a reputation for quality - although this comes at a price. This isn't a cheap omelette pan, at £44 there are cheaper pans around but the quality shines through.
The pan is ideal for things like fried eggs, omelette, pancakes etc as its the perfect size - no need to heat up a larger pan. The pan itself is excellent quality, heavier than some other pans of its size but solid. Its made from Le Creuset's 3 ply stainless steel, it heats up quickly and holds heat very well - no need to use the higher heat settings with this pan.
The non-stick coating makes cooking easy, far superior to any non-stick coating on your normal Tefal pans etc. Le Creuset also claim that its scratch resistant so you can use metal utensils - i havent tried this - i stick to the silicon ones! Its also dishwasher safe, can be used on virtually every type of heating element and even go in the oven.
The handle is also stainless steel and in my experience doesnt get hot provided the handle isnt directly over the heat.
Finally this pan comes with a 10 year guarantee, which i have actually used. If you read my review of the frying pans i bought the set about 3 years ago and the non-stick coating started to peel very slightly at the sides - on the omelette pan the edge of the non stick coating was also very slightly starting to come away.
I took both back into John Lewis recently (3 years after purchase) and they were replaced with brand new ones on the spot, no questions asked. And now my new pans have another 10 year guarantee. I was also informed that the batch of pans i bought 3 years ago have since been known to have a fault so i dont expect the same to happen again, but even if it does i'll get a new pan for free.
Summary: A great pan - buy one!
