Before we moved house, I had to update some of my cookware as we were moving to a house with an induction hob. However, I decided to take the opportunity to update a couple of roasters as well and when I had an amazon voucher lying I decided to purchase one online. I ended up with a Prestige Large Roaster dish which at the time cost me around £15 which is probably more than I would have spent in a shop, but when I had a voucher I thought I would buy something which I thought was a little better in terms of quality.
This Prestige Bakemaster Large Oven Roaster features a Premium non stick coating inside and out. It can be used in ovens up to 240degrees, which I actually think is quite a low temperature, as other cookware can withstand higher temperatures than that. This roaster is dishwasher safe which is handy now that I have a dishwasher in our new kitchen. This roaster also claims to be a heavy guage roaster and is meant to be easy clean.
I have been using this roaster since I moved house at the start of the summer and it has been brilliant! I have used it oodles of times including for dishes that included plenty of sticky sauces and other things that have the potential to stick. So far, I have no problems with cleaning it, any stickiness has come off easily and without too much elbow grease on my part. I would say this has a lot to do with the fact that there seems to be a good layer of non stick on this roaster compared with some other roasters on the market, which is probably you are paying slightly more than you would for a supermarket own brand etc. It does feel well built and solid rather than flimsy, which one of my previous roasters was.
All in all, I am very pleased with this roaster. I have had it now for around 5 months and it has shown no signs of wear as yet. I haven't ever actually used it in the dishwasher, simply because I always have some pots and pans to wash by hand and I tend to do this one while I am already at the sink. I'm still not sure I would have spent £15 of my own money on this roaster despite my positive experiences with it so far, however, if money isn't an object or you have vouchers to be used then this is a good buy.
Every household needs a good sized roaster that's sturdy enough to take a heavy joint or large poultry and plenty of vegetables. This non-stick one from Prestige won't disappoint plus its two large lips at either end make it easily manoeuvrable. The range is dishwasher safe and comes with a Prestige Lifetime Guarantee so you are assured of durable and functional bakeware for years to come.
