==Pyrex Large Roaster==
Being a big lover of all the Pyrex items whether it be the glass kitchen ware or the metal items I really do have a lot of their products and I cannot rate them highly enough. This item I have is one of the pieces that I have more or less inherited from my mother in law when they moved from the island up to Lincoln and seeing as they had a large pub with a fully stocked kitchen they had a lot of items that they weren't planning to take with them. So I managed to more or less stock my kitchen with everything anyone would ever need to be able to cook for the masses! (Plus I took a lot which I later sold at boot sales!)
This large Pyrex roaster is one of the items that I do actually use regularly and I wouldn't dream of taking it to a boot sale because of this fact. It is a handy item which is more or less indestructible and even though I guess my mother in law would have had it a good few years before we got hold of it and the fact that we must have had it coming up 8 years it is still in a fantastic condition.
These dishes can sell for around £15 which is still a really good price for the brand and the item you are buying. The Pyrex range is on half price off in Morrison's at the moment but can often be found on offer in a whole host of different shops. Tesco's have a large range of their cook wear items and strangely enough Matalan stock a lot of it also and all for a really competitive price. It seems the internet is also a good place to look for a bargain but when taking into account the postage and packaging price of the item it might be a better idea to find out where is selling the cheapest and head to the high street shops to get it.
The dish itself is a large size at 39 cm by 25 cm and is suitable for a whole load of cooking projects. The fact that it is stain resistant, relatively easy to clean makes it a far better roaster to by when comparing it to other such items. It can be put in the dishwasher although a lot of the time I find it better to leave it soak and then wash it by hand as when roasting items in it they will often get crusted on to the glass and the dishwasher won't always get rid of every trace.
Not only is it dishwasher safe but it is also fine to put in the freezer and fridge if you so wish. The strong glass that is it made up of is so very tough that it can take either really cold or really high temperatures (up to 300 degrees just like every other Pyrex glass item).
The dish is a nice size to be able to do my pasta bakes in and the two little build in glass handles on either side of the dish make it easy to get in and out of the oven without struggling at all. I will often cook the chicken in it on a Sunday and it is perfect for all kinds of meats even though I tend to cover over my chicken with some tin foil so that it doesn't spit the fat all over my oven but this is easily done and although a lidded roaster may be a little better this tray is still a very versatile and useful dish to have in the cupboard.
As with all my Pyrex items I really cannot rate them highly enough and I certainly wouldn't be without them. They can take a good deal of rough handling and unless I threw it at a brick wall I can't ever see it breaking. It has got to be worthy of a top 5 out of 5 star rating and an exceptionally high recommendation!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
