When I had my new kitchen fitted about eighteen months ago I decided to replace and add to some of my bake ware and Pyrex. In fact, as part of my Christmas present, hubby bought me a new cake tin and two new baking trays and I was delighted!

When we were in Tesco's just after Christmas they had a pile of Pyrex casseroles and roasters in their sale so I treated myself to a couple of the roasters. I already have enough casseroles together with measuring jugs, plates and small cooking dishes in my Pyrex collection! My kitchen would not be complete without Pyrex!

One of the ones that I bought this time is the Pyrex 232B000 Excellence Roaster and I am sure it only cost me about £8 but looking around now the price is more like £16 on the Internet so a bit of shopping around would be called for if buying one now.

The roaster came with a piece of green card nestling inside it giving a bit of information about Pyrex in 16 different languages!

This roaster measures 39cm by 25cm although there are lots of other sizes available too. It is made from clear Pyrex and has a handle built into each end so it is easy to grip so that it can be lifted safely from the oven. As with all Pyrex products it comes with a ten year guarantee - not that this will be needed - Pyrex seems to last forever!

Being Pyrex means that it is non stick and heatproof and so is safe to put into the oven or microwave. It is safe to put in the dishwasher, fridge or freezer and will cope safely with very hot or very cold water. You are advised not to put a very hot Pyrex dish on a cold surface or to run very cold water onto a hot dish but I have to say that I have never had any problems when I have done this without thinking.

It is easy to clean and, even if some of the food gets burnt or dried on, I find that a soak in a bowl of hot water complete with my trusty Fairy Liquid brings it up bright and shiny and good as new.

This roaster is great for cooking a joint of meat or a chicken. I just pop the meat in and then cover the whole thing with aluminium foil to keep the juices in and then in the oven it goes. I have also used this roaster for cooking roast vegetables. This one is also ideal if I am cooking a pie or a lasagne for four of us. So you see it is very versatile and has many uses.

Well, I'm afraid this one is a very short review, as there isn't much more to be said about this product! It's Pyrex, it's brilliant and I couldn't do without it! Enough said!
