==Pyrex Oval Casserole Dish=== There is something that I really like about a nice bit of Pyrex and to be fair the majority of my cooking items in the kitchen are made up from Pyrex. There are so many good things about the collection of dishes, jugs, and bowls that I have in Pyrex and this is probably why I continue to buy it. However that said the majority of the Pyrex that I own is a hand me down from either my mum or my mother in law. I am reviewing lots of my kitchen cupboard items at the minute and if you've read my other reviews you will be able to tell that my cupbaords are pretty full of pyrex dishes! This casserole dish also joins them in that cupboard and it's great. It is quite a new addition actually, I realised that I needed a casserole dish to add to my collection as I was often trying to make casserole type items in my pyrex bowls or trays and had to keep making make-shift lids with tin foil so decided it was time to buy one instead. Another day, another Pyrex dish to review, sorry!! Just to make the review a bit more interesting I will add a bit of history about Pyrex that I have found on the internet. Pyrex is a brand name for glassware, introduced by Corning Incorporated in 1915. A Corning executive gave the following account of the etymology of the Pyrex brand name: "The word PYREX is probably a purely arbitrary word which was devised in 1915 as a trade-mark for products manufactured and sold by Corning Glass Works.
