Today I am going to tell you more about the 5 piece Tefal cookware set (Model ID 2094558206) that I purchased back in November 2011.

Why Did I Choose This Cookware Set?

I had been given a bit of money from a family member when moving into my own house last year and I shopped around for a couple of days looking for a decent set with a frying pan and a few pans to go with it.

I didn't need lots of things in the set - a total of 5 was enough as I am only ever usually cooking for me and my young daughter. I also tend to use pans a lot more than frying pans so the fact that this set contains 4 pans and just one frying pan suited my needs perfectly.

I spotted this Tefal set in Argos and after talking to various people about the make I decided to take the plunge and buy as its a well known make so you believe it will last you a long time - the manufacturer also offers a lifetime guarentee with the product which made me feel even more confident that the purchase was worth it if its going to last a couple of years - which is what I was looking for :-)

The Price

I spent a total of £79.99 on this set - so lets face it... its not exactly cheap... I have had the set for coming up six months now and I still believe it was a good purchase because of how well its lasting so far.

At the time of posting this review the set was still selling in Argos for £79.99.

What You Get In The Set

The set includes the following:

1 x Frying Pan (26cm)
3 x Sauce Pans (Different sizes measuring 16cm, 18cm and 20cm)
1 x Milk Pan (No Lid) - 14cm

The three sauce pans come with lids.

The Appearance

All the pans in the set are made out of stainless steel. This material is very long lasting along with the fact they are all lined in non-stick coating - making the set very scratch resistant... The pots are black in colour and turn a light grey colour when they come out the dishwasher.

The lids are all made out of glass and lined with stainless steel - they all also have holes in the lids to let the pressure out whilst cooking.

All the pans in the set have silicone handles - very comfortable and safe to use without the fear of being burned... The glass lids also have matching silicone handles.

The Verdict

I don't believe any cookware set is actually scratch resistant - even though the adverts state you can use metal utensils I continue to use plastic instead to get as much use out of the set as possible. However I believe Tefal sets are as good as you are going to get. I would recommend Tefal cookware to anyone as long as you are willing to pay for it.

I'll put it very simply... IF I OWNED A MONKEY I WOULD DEFINITELY let him cook me a full english breakfast using this cooking set - as long as he promised to stay away from metal utensils and just use plastic ones...
