jonnythurston Credit Cards in general: ... Cards This is a tricky topic to discuss really, becuase these things can cause major-major problems for some, but if handled correctly can be really great. Credit cards work by buying things on credit, so you buy whatever it is you want and don t have to pay for it until the end of the month. This is fine if you afford to pay off whatever it is you bought that month with your wages, but if not, then you are...

xxxkelzoxxx Halifax All in One
... had been talking to Halifax who I have banked with ever since my first job when I was 16 regarding one of my account on a couple of different occasions and they kept mentioning their new credit card to me, offering to me to make a quick application. I declined their offers as I thought, NO MORE CARDS! I was the best thing to do, I knew it. I only have a couple of cards which I don t go crazy on at all I am actually very sensible with. However, I had a look at a little leaflet enclosed with my bank statement after the 0% on balance transfers and puchases for 9 months catching my eye. This is a great offer and after having a little think about it and deciding it was a...

ukboltonboy Nectar Card
... Nectar card is effectively a loyalty card which allows you to earn points on money spent at selected outlets. There are two different types of card - the general nectar card and the nectar credit card. You can earn points at actual shops as well as online. Outlets include Sainsburys, BP petrol stations, recently Homebase and many more. A good feature of the card is that if you go to nectar.com and then access certain online retailers you will earn points on your purchase. This includes sites like Play.com and Amazon.co.uk although you do have to visit nectar.com and access these sites from there before you put anything in your basket to earn points. A few down sides....

AbsintheFairy Nectar Card
... love my loyalty cards so I had to sign up for a Nectar card. I signed up online and had the card delivered shortly after. I later ordered a fob to put on my keyring, which is handy as I don t have to take my card out with me - just my keys! The Nectar points scheme isn t that great to be honest. You get 2 points for every £1 spent, which is half of what Boots offer. Also, every point is worth 0.5p which isn t marvellous. So you feel like you ve got loads of points when they re not worth very much - a little misleading. However, since you collect them in Sainsbury s, there is the potential to collect more points as if you have a family you probably spend quite a bit on ...
