Advantages: customer service
Disadvantages: none
I no longer have anything on it, but this was the best credit card I had. Around 12 months ago I transferred all of my debts to this card. I did it over the phone, the guy was nice and friendly, and it couldn't have been easier. My second experience with customer services was to change address, and again that went easily (unlike a different card which was a real pain). So, first off, my customer services experience is all good.
My card is a mastercard, and I am billed every month. A paper invoice comes through which is simply laid out and easy to read and understand. A handy summary box on page 1 explains everything I need to know, and again this is better than some other cards.
I was able to get interest free for 12 months on my £5000 transfer, and had cleared the lot within 9, which meant I never paid a penny's interest.
Money-wise, I am on 17.9% per year interest, which is about normal. The minimum payment is 2.5%, which is similar to all the others too. Default charges are £12 per late payment, which is also similar to all the others who have brought their prices down lately.
All in all, this is a good card that beats the others with customer services. Money-wise, it's no better or worst than its competitors, but I have always enjoyed the ease of communication with the company.
You can make your payments over the phone, by direct debit, by post or at a bank, which gives you the full range of options on how to pay.
As with all cards, there is no pressure to pay off much, which encourages debt, but if you had to use a credit card I would recommend this one.
Summary: do it
