Good value Cash Back credit card (American Express)

Advantages: You get a 5% cash back in the first three months great value

Disadvantages: not excepted everywhere and the rate drops after 3 months high APR

My wife and I were recommended the American Express credit card by our friends because it offers 5% cash back on purchases for the first three months. This might not sound a lot but I have managed to get nearly 200 pounds already this year which is enough for a nice weekend away with the wife .
After the first 3 months the rate goes down to 1.5% The APR is very high on this card so you have to be quite disciplined in paying it off each month but touch wood we have managed this each month.
The best thing to do is to pay the petrol council tax and any large bill on your c ard and the cash back soon adds up.
Getting the card was quite easy we filled out the forms on the off chance and within ten days my wife and I had our new shiny Credit Cards
At this point I would like to say that no everywhere takes American Express as I believe they card the store more than Visa and Master card but you will be surprised at how many stores do take the card. Its possible to do your shopping at the supermarket buy petrol holidays ect all from this card and each time receiving the cash back benefit.
We haven't had any issues with the card and recently have been on holiday to the south of France where we were able to buy goods and services without any issues
The American Express is our card of choice and we use this like a debit card to fully benefit from the cash back offered .
In conclusion I would recommend this card to anyone as you will benefit from a good cash back card that although isn't excepted everywhere you will be able to make a bit of money if used cleverly worth a look at
