Quick to charge (Bank of Scotland)

Advantages: Absolutely none that I can see

Disadvantages: Inflexible and quick to charge

I have a visa card through this bank and I am very unhappy indeed.

I forgot to pay them a few months back because my youngest son went into hospital for 6 weeks, I rang them and explained the situation and why I was late and paid the outstanding amount, I also asked whether it would show on my credit rating, the lady I spoke to assured me it would not, well she either lied or had no idea what she was speaking about as I have checked my experian account and they have put me as being 2 months late.

I rang them and asked about it and got basically fobbed off, and to add insult to injury they charged me a £12.00 late fee which they are refusing to credit back.

I am now in the process of closing the account and will never ever go with this bank again, they are totally inflexible.

Summary: Be very careful if you have a card with them, make sure you are not even a day late!!
