 Barclaycard Credit Card

Barclaycard

Newest Review: ... however now it is just a more standard 12 months. The Balance transfer fee on this credit card is only 2.5% rather than the typical 3%. Transferring a balance of £5000 this lower transfer fee saves £25. The other main feature of this credit card is that it contains an Oyster Card for use on London Underground. So you can buy Oyster Card Credit on your barclaycard and then use it instead of an oyster card when going through the barriers in London Underground. Personally I have never used this as my main reason for having this card is the 0% balance transfer and if I used it as an oyster card these purchases would be ranked under the bal... more

There are many different types of Barclaycard to suit different customer needs. The barclaycard I have is the Barclaycard Onepulse Credit Card. My sole reason for choosing this card was the length of the 0% balance transfer deal, which at the time of opening my account was 14 months, however now it is just a more standard 12 months. The Balance transfer fee on this credit card is only 2.5% rather than the typical 3%. Transferring a balance of £5000 this lower transfer fee saves £25. ***Good application service *** I applied for a Barclaycard Initial credit card online as my first credit card about four months ago. I had never had a card and assumed I would have a low credit rating and had read that this was a good card to apply for to boost your rating. The application went through fine and I was offered a Barclaycard Gold rather than an Initial card which had better offers on it. ***Pushy sales staff*** I initially used the card for regular spending, paying off the full amount every month but then started to get calls from Barclays about transferring a balance to the card. The sales people were very pushy but as I had been ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Barclaycard: BARCLAYCARD (160 words)

I got my barclaycard about a year and half ago and i have to say i was greatly impressed with them. In these credit crunch times i have found from others that lots of the companies have been putting up their interest rates for customers with them for a while, i started off with bc on 0% for 9 months and then went up to 15% which i find quite good. I ddid find however that their customer service wasnt the best, i lost my pin on one occasion and found they were not only hard to get through to but any of the call centre agents were unable to undertstand english fully and werent able to directly help me. I did find however the online banking aspect of barclaycard very useful ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Easy but benefits not that great!! (173 words)

I have had a Barclaycard now for about three years; i transfered to them as they often advertise 0% balance transfers and 0% on purchases which is great to help you manage your finances. The interest rate does just up steeply to 15% after the offer which they dont tell you about and which is very high compared to competitors, however, if you clear the balance every month it is fine! I would reccommend it on the basis that it is a trusted brand, however I think because it is so well known there is a risk that you dont end up getting as good benefits as others- for example, bill texting, low rates, cashback. A huge plus for me is that the statements are clear and simple to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Barclaycard: Would you Credit it? (541 words)
by - written on 04/08/09 (Very useful, 100 readings)

I have had a Barclaycard for several years now. It is one of those things that I never used to give a lot of thought to. I would occasionally use it to 'iron out the bumps' in a tricky financial month or use it to purchase something big with the added bonus that most credit cards offer of additional insurance. However along came the credit crunch and suddenly borrowing just got expensive. So what does this little piece of plastic now offer? Well to start with the current Simplicity card you have a flat rate of 6.8% for all purchases and balance transfers without any handling fee. The amount of any balance transfer needs to be between £250 and £5,000 to qualify ...  Read the complete review
