Issued me a used account and told me to resolve it (Barclaycard)

applying for the card was simple but when I phoned to activate my card I found there was aready a transaction on the account dated 9 days before I had even applied for the card. When I spoke with their fraud dept I was told they would *help me* to recover the money, they then wrote me a letter telling me that I had visited an Australian website and authorised the company to take continuous payments from my account, that therefore I should phone Australia and ask for a refund even though I hadn't yet applied for the card when this supposidly took place !!!!!!!!! I have written 4 seperate letters to their Customer Relations unit each asking for an explanation and some kind of appology and have never had any meaningful response. I will never deal with barclays again and couldn't possibly reccomend them to anyone else - Stay away !!!!!!!
