Advantages: 0% on season tickets
Disadvantages: Not accepting new applications
Being a big football fan, the close season always revolves around trying to scrape together enough money to fund my season ticket purchase. This summer, I am getting wed, and money is more tight than ever, so I was slightly worried about how I would be able to fund my season ticket purchase.
This is where Barclaycard came into their own, as the currently sponsor the English Premier League, they have a special credit card that gives a whole host of benefits when it comes to football, the main one being the 0% interest rate on season ticket purchases (in excess of £250), for me, this was an absolute god send. There is no expiry date to the 0% offer either meaning that you can take as long as you like to pay it off, most 0% rates for purchases only last 12 months. Its not an introductory offer either, you can have 0% on your season tickets season after season.
The card has a variety of other football benefits, you can collect points when spending on the card which then give you access to fantastic rewards, such as football tickets, vouchers, footballs and shirts.
You can also enter into prize draws, for example, one of the prizes on offer at the minute is to win the Premier League trophy for the day! They currently also have an offer on for reduced price stadium tours.
All this is on top of the benefits that normal credit cards give you too!
The APR on the card is 14.9% (typical) which is much lower than a lot of other cards I have, the card also offers a 12 month 0% balance transfer offer.
You can service your card online, the website is very easy to use.
I couldn't speak highly enough of this card, the only downside is that it appears that they aren't accepting new applications at the minute, however, I would encourage football fans to keep checking their website and take advantage of this fantastic card when they can!
Summary: A must must must have for football fans

- 13/05/09 Was wondering about this one. Not being a footbal fan, I have the cashback version of this card from when they were accepting applications for it instead. |
