Advantages: Fair Interest Rates
Disadvantages: Overseas Customer Service Centre
Hi had a Barclaycard for just about 7 years now. I have found they provide a good service in comparison to quite a few other major card providers. The interest rates they charge are not to extortionate with no interest charges being made if you pay your balance in full at the end of the month.
The bill usually comes in the last week of the month giving me until around the 19th of the next month to pay. The minimum payment on the card always seems to be fair and appropriate to the balance.
I have had other credit cards and Barclaycard seems to be the one thats been in my wallet the whole time and is still there. It seems to be the one with the fairest rates for both cash withdrawal and purchases, also it seems to be the one of the cards that gives you the longest they can to make minimum payment which has come in a handy a few times.
The main problem with Barclaycard is overseas call centres when you call with queries or to pay bills. I don't think it's only me but the last thing i want is communiction problems because of languge barriers when dealing with my finances.
The charges if you go over your limit are set at £12 and late payment fee is also £12. This is a lot better than most banks but however has only recently been adjusted to this level with previous charges being a lot higher.
Overall a good card accepted everywhere, could do with english based call centres. Other than this i have never had any problems with Barclaycard apart from the couple of times i've exceded my limit and incurred above mentioned charges.
Summary: All Round Good Card
