I have had my Barclaycard for over a year now and so far have had no problems with them. When I origianally took out the card I was given 12 months 0% on balance transfers and 0% on purchases for three months. The card I was eligable for was thier Barclaycard Initial which had a massive intrest rate, 27.9% and had a credit limit of £260.00 but I was just using it to build a good credit history and never had a balance on it so I paid no interest anyway. My plan of building a good credit report clearly worked as after 6 months or so Barclaycard called me and offered me an 'upgrade' to the Classic version on 19.9% and an increased credit limit, which I still have to this day, although I try not to use it too much.

Barclaycard also offer special 'Retailer Discounts' on any purchases that you make with your Barclaycard, which can be found on the Barclaycard website but include discounts on a number of popular retailers including upto 7% off any Thomas Cook holidays booked with the card, which I have taken advantage of and found to be of great benifit. These offers are available on the full range of Barclaycards. They also offer other services such as emergency card replacement and identity theft protection.

I have not had to speak to Barclaycard customer services on very many occasions but when I have all the staff have been very friendly and helpful apart from one occasion when I sopke to thier foreign call centre where they struggled to understand me, however I have since aquired a number that will put me through to thier English call centre which is excellent.

The Barclaycard online site is also very very easy to use and helps me to keep track of the balances and payments as well as keeping me up to date with thier new products and services.
