Advantages: Saving money, Additional card holders
Disadvantages: Discount level drops
No matter how many times I visit BHS I nearly always come out with buying something. About 3 years ago I applied for a BHS Gold card. This is really a credit card that actually gives discount on purchases throughout the store. When you buy anything and pay for the goods by this method you earn 1 point for every £10.00 spent. Once a month you receive a statement from BHS showing the different purchases made, and the number of points earned. Once you have earned 25 points your statement will show that you have a discount level of 5%. This means that you will be able to save this discount from all items bought in the store, until your next discount level is reached. Your following statement will show the 5% discount amount and how many points you will need to reach the next level. This is 10%, which is after you earn another 25 points. The maximum level is 15%. This is reached by earning another 35 points. This can save you lots of money on all items in BHS. The only drawback to this scheme is that it only runs from 30 Sept to 29 Sept the following year. When your statement comes in, it shows the level of discount but drops down. ie: 15% drops to 10% for the following year, 10% drops to 5%, etc. With this type of card you can have additional card holders. Their purchases go on the main card holders account. This means that everyone can take advantage of the discount scheme.
