Advantages: simple to get a card, simple to use, lots of points earned quickly!

Disadvantages: makes you more prone to spend in Boots, even if the price is a bit higher.

I have had my Boots Advantage Card for about a year now, and can currently buy something up to the value of £13.09 with it! It's so simple to apply, just pick up a form from Boots, fill it in, and about 3 weeks later you'll recieve your very own pinky/white Boots card!
Also, if you've been meaning to put yourself on the organ donor's register, you can tick a box to do that, is you wish, on the form.

With a Boots advantage card, you'll recieve 4 points per £ spent. This does mount up! Also, certain products will gain you extra points. You also get points for shopping online at Boots, but get nothing for the postage! Although Boots do often have point/gift incentives for shopping online.
This advantage card is the most generous of all I know of, as you are reiceing free gifts for just shopping in Boots. But this scheme does make you more prone to spend your money in Boots rather than other shops, even if the price is a little higher.

If you have forgotten your card in Boots, you simply tell the cashier and then you have 30 days (approx!) to bring in your card, with the reciept/s, and have your points put on. Also, if you lose your card (as I did!) you order another one, and they put all the points you had on the old one, onto the new one!

So The Boots Advantage Card is simple to use, and very beneficial, so what are you waiting for? Go and fill in that form!

The redemption value of any loyalty card is pretty poor really. But if it's for something that you are buying all the time (such as petrol or groceries), you can limit your spending to the shop concerned and get something back. If you live near a Boots, and discipline yourself to buying all your health and cosmetic products there, then it may be good. I'm not convinced that it's such a great thing. Supermarkets sell all the stuff that Boots do, often cheaper, and your loyalty points are beefed up by grocery and household purchases.
