I have been a member of the boots advantage card scheme now for almost 10 years. I must have redeemed over £1000 worth of points over this time.
For every whole pound you spend you receive 4 points. every point is worth a penny, so 100 points = £1, 1000 points = £10
It has been very easy to change my personal details with them such as address and name. I use the online boots.com mainly at christmas time when i just cant bare the mad christmas rush anymore, it is so easy to use sitting in my nice warm home knowing i will also rack up them all important adavantage card point, which at 4 points for every pound spent makes it one of the most ( if not the most) rewarding club scheme in the uk. I have even registered with the baby&parenting club which was very easy to do using one of the advantage card kiosks in store where i revieve double advantage card points when buying certain baby products.
The points are added instantly and are ready for you to spend immediatly on a vast amount of products. However you must have at least the whole amount in points to be able to purchase the item you want. The points cannot be used as partial payment with cash.
They also cannot be used as a part payment with the £5 off vouchers (ie £5 off number 7 or fragrance) boots give when you spend over a certain amount. However i am certain i have actually done this before, i think it depends on the mood of the cashier.
Look out for special double and triple point events, and i never go to the checkout without first visiting the advantage card kiosk to see what bonus points offers are available first.

Summary: i wouldnt be without my boots card
