Advantages: Save points and treat yourself
Disadvantages: Cant think of any!
I remember getting my first boots advantage card when I was still in school and feeling very important because I carried a card in my own name and got rewards for shopping - and as this happened at the time when I first got into make up I started collecting and spending points very quickly!
The boots advantage card is easy to apply for from what I remember! You fill out a form, they give you a temporary card and post one out to you in a few weeks.
I do not think there has been a time where I have purchased something in boots and the employee at the checkout has not asked me if I have an advantage card. On the occasions I have not had it with me they have told me they will validate my receipt and this allows me some time to return to a Boots store with my card and the receipt to add the points onto my account.
You receive 4 points for every £1 you spend in store or online. However, they also send a letter every few months which gives me a voucher for double points or vouchers for additional points. In store they have also got an Advantage Card machine that you can insert your card into and it will tell you how many point you have and then give you a menu to choose from to see what special offers there are, I usually click to see everything or total spends if I am spending over £20/30 as they usually have a voucher for extra points when you spend over that amount.
When you are a card holder you are able to pick up the Boots magazine for free which is always worth a flick through and once again usually has vouchers for extra points at the back.
Boots also do Christmas shopping evenings around this time of year and coming up to Christmas, where for every £50 you spend in store you receive £10 worth of advantage card points. With all the 3 for 2 range this is something I have done every year for the last several years.
Over the last few months Boots have also done a special offer in conjunction with your card. I believe when you buy 5 meal deals within a month you get the 6th for free - your card keeps track of how many you have bought.
They also have special weekends throughout the year where you get double or triple card points for spending over a certain amount.
I tend to save my points and buy my foundation or treat myself to some perfume. This year alone I have got two foundations and last week got a Ghost fragrance gift set, so have managed to collect around £40 worth of points on my card just by shopping and keeping my eye out for additional points!
A must for anyone who shops at boots
Summary: It is worth everyone who shops in Boots getting one!
